How dare Sir Beer put pressure on the police by, er... Erm. How dare he!

Wouldn't catch whiter than white Tories carrying out such behaviour would you?

There is no comparison the comparison is Blair as it’s a direct copy cat strategy and the police admitted they backed off

Even Kevin maguire hardly thinks it’s playing a blinder and Starmer was under pressure internally to make the announcement

Why did Starmer say Cummings was guilty when he now admits he didn’t break any rules at Barnard Castle?
Also not sure Starmer said what you’re saying he did. In fact if you look at what was printed at the time it looks like he took flack for not saying what you’re claiming he said. For example

That’s not an answer though is it

Im not justifying it, I’m just saying political parties and papers will play politics to gain an advantage over their opposition and play to their crowd. Labour/left leaning papers were doing with the initial FPNs issued to Sunak and Johnson, now right wing papers/Tories are trying to take advantage of the Starmer situation.

I’ve said before, whilst I understand peoples justifiable anger/upset at potential rule breaking, I’d rather both sides focus on the post pandemic shitstorm that’s developing here and around the world and how we’re going to get ourselves through it

The Queen's (or Charles', as it was) speech was a load of old shit this morning.

Charles seemed to be reading it with disdain as well.

See, my way of having faith we can deal with upcoming issues is by having faith that the rule makers know and keep to the rules they made!

...and we haven't even got into the care home scandal...

The left newspapers were ‘playing politics’ over Johnson and his ministers breaking all kinds of their own laws? That sounds like what Johnson would say himself.

I think the prolonged fuss over partygate is a perfect example of why people are disengaged with genuine political issues. What a waste of time it is.

in all seriousness it’s really embarrassing - How long was Johnson in the room abd was the cake a surprise, were people sharing poppadoms and Durham abs did they socially distance

Starmer yesterday pleading I stopped work for something to eat.

It’s a joke

I don't know how many times you need to be told the two events were at different times with different rules.

Case closed 😂😂

Better tell the Durham police then 😂😂

I think you'll find Durham police are well aware, hence they found no wrongdoing.

As they didn’t with Dominic Cummings yet Starmer accused him of breaking the rules

Tut tut why didn’t Mr Starmer defend Cummings and say he was innocent?

It is a joke, and I'd have more respect if MPs came out and said:

1. Yes there probably were breaches of the rules that existed at either time
2. The rules were illogical and unclear
3. The SoS had excessive power to make those rules without any proper oversight
4. Fines for similar breaches should be compensated by the government through a special scheme

Then just get on with doing something useful

Exactly of course this all plays into the Tories hands. It’s an irrelevance - it’s similar to the pre election perogue parliament nonsense and government defeats

A lot of smug people were laughing on here but as I said at the time every commons defeat for Johnson was a seat won at the general election

Keep going. You actually I think believe people will look at specifics - no they won’t they see one privileged twat with a cake and another privileged twat with a Biryani no doubt paid on expenses

That’s what the average non Parisian voter sees - keep going it’s a great deflection - all Starmer does is whine he had something to eat and that’s all people are seeing from him - I doubt he’s going hungry
