Eh? They’ve won 5 top flight titles abs have spent 89 years in the top flight

Six titles but three were before 1900 and the last was fairly recent in 1936😉

It is worth remembering ccfc were found guilty of match fixing - well Hill was

in England - it clearly does. All this bollocks about hating each other never existed - it’s been whipped up by the internet it’s pathetic

You said your reasoning for them being in the top ten in history was because they spent, within 10 clubs the most time on the top flight.

All the tables I’ve seen online from analysts and enthusiasts who look at footballing parameters do not have them on the top 10 of all time. They aren’t far off, but not in the top 10.

There is a hatred there from them. Read their forums. When I went to the 5-4 there was hatred and vitriol everywhere. It’s clearly not all of them, of course it’s not, but it’s there in some form.

yes they are in the top 10 of teams who’ve been in the top flight the most - have won 5 league titles and 2 F A cups

89 top flight seasons
Actually they have won six but when was the last one? 1936. And three of them were in the 1800s.

They all count of course unlike the Leeds ones under Don Revie, which were too long ago.

Welcome to the land of Grendel stats.

For the Bristol City game? Before my time so you would have to help me on that one please.

Guilty from the FA of “erroneously influencing the outcome of a match”

Ive already pointed out to you that Burnley have had more top flight seasons than Leeds?

They blame us for them being religated twice.
All they had to do was win the last game of the season to stay up.
Like someone else said them and Liverpool fans do feel entitled.
I say Entitled to fuck all.

And I am pointing out that you base your opinions on a selective use if statistics or facts.

I’m genuinely fascinated what rankings could make Newcastle the 7th biggest ever club in England

Its one source I know but it’s more depth than your ‘definately top ten in the history of the game’

In fact scrub that Spurs 5th? They haven’t won any trophies for donkeys years and have only 2 league titles

In my lifetime Newcastle have clearly been a more successful club than Sunderland

Why are Sunderland's titles in the 1800s relevant but Leeds' in 1960/1970s not?

Er I’m saying that I’m the context of the discussion in terms of history Burnley have been a bigger team than Leeds and they Leeds have not been a force generally for half a century and weren’t either before the revie era

It’s not hard

What's with the 'er'?

Not it's not hard to see that you exclude things that don't fit your argument rather than taking a balanced or objective approach.

Grandad was from Co. Durham and went to watch both of them on alternate weekends growing up. Nothing against that part of the world at all but the comments made about Hill decades after the event were really poor taste.

Also interesting that G thinks crowd size and history should get you a free pass to higher leagues. The type that shed tears for Derby getting punished for taking the piss but thought nothing of Bury going out of existence.

so the balanced approach being Burnley have had more seasons in ybe top flight and Leeds really have been an up and down team over the years

I mean let’s be honest you kept yabbering on about Jodi Jones claiming I knew what robins was thinking - you hardly had to be a mind reader to conclude that robins thought Jones was rubbish

again where have I said a free pass - you do make things up

You just seem a bit disappointed that league tables don’t go in order of attendance or the Grendel ‘big club’ rank

No I think a lot on here call clubs like Bournemouth tin pot. Don’t think I have

But given a choice you’d want surely a Sunderland than a Wycombe - the main difference this season has been the atmosphere generating partly by big away followings - was there anything more depressing than games against FGR and Bury when two men and a dog turned up?
