I also see that airline bosses are lining up off the back of Shapps media round this morning to confirm that brexit is a major factor in the airport chaos in the UK.
How much do Sinn Fein have? Oh you want a different voting system now?
So then people will want to reverse it.
Who won the election over there G?
No one. And no one is in Stormont

To be honest, it's a bit concerning and we have a government who seem more interested in continuing to perpetrate the lie that everything brexit related is going smoothly instead of dealing with the issues surrounding it.
Not even remotely true. The first minister is a Sinn Fein first minister because they won the assembly election to be the largest party. That’s how the system works. The assembly isn’t sitting because the DUP ironically given your claims didn’t get the brexit they voted for.No one. And no one is in Stormont

Agree with this. There has been minimal planning, acknowledgment or addressing many of the issues. There’s no excuse for this 6 years after the vote.
Exactly. So I don't know why Leavers aren't demanding more rather than just accepting it and pretending Brexit is wonderful or this is what they voted for!

I’m not sure many are though, other than the very narrow part of the Conservative party and the nutters who wanted the hardest Brexit possible
The majority of red wall voters turned to Johnson purely as as left the eu
They wanted an ideological principal and that’s what they wanted. No one cares about anything about it now who have voted leave in those areas. Even Starmer isn’t that stupid
So the discussion is pointless as neither party would vote to return
Most of these voters wanted the ideology of Get Brexit Done and most will accept inconvenience as a justification for what they wanted
I agree with the Get Brexit done point because everyone was sick of the stalemate in parliament. Still a disgrace. However, I think most people would prefer a practical/flexible Brexit rather than one based more on the ideological extreme of the minority. Like many Remainers would’ve been better accepting the result and working towards delivering a Brexit that acknowledges the country’s wishes whilst retaining a close relationship with the EU
As I’ve said though, before and since the vote the extremes have controlled the debate
It’s highly doubtful that Britain would ever rejoin.Remainers never will accept it - this thread is still droning on even though no one on here even wants to get a party to campaign for a return - as they know that brings oblivion
The EEA option would have been the fairest compromise and wouldn’t have led the country where it is today.I agree with the Get Brexit done point because everyone was sick of the stalemate in parliament. No idea, I’ve never watched it.You know on the inbetweeners and they call Simon ‘sick boy boner’. What does the joke mean I don’t understand it?
Got the money to look at bringing back imperial measurements though, which is of course one of the biggest barriers to us getting trade deals...To be honest, it's a bit concerning and we have a government who seem more interested in continuing to perpetrate the lie that everything brexit related is going smoothly instead of dealing with the issues surrounding it.
The planned cuts, or should that be fucking huge planned cuts, to the civil service will only make things worse.
The username is from the film, Trainspotting. So it’s nothing to do with your username then? maybe someone will explain before I get banned again
No, because they'd never be able to admit thatWell if they are outraged they’d demand a return wouldn’t they?
The issue on European membership was a closed done decision in 1975...The irony about this thread is the likes of Tony downs his whole live regurgitating nonsense on a closed done decision and yet don’t want a vote to change
Matter of timeSo then people will want to reverse it.
I assume it's a Trainspotting character. So it’s nothing to do with your username then? maybe someone will explain before I get banned again
It's a very noble - I didn't see him, no, but I see him in my dreams most nights. My username stands for Treat People With Kindness which I think is one of Harry’s best songs, did you see him at the memorial last week he was amazing
And how do you feel about that , Tony ? It must surely make you feel very happy to a large extent .I also see that airline bosses are lining up off the back of Shapps media round this morning to confirm that brexit is a major factor in the airport chaos in the UK.
The problem is Steve there was initially a consensus in parliament but May wouldn’t work cross party and decided to hold an I’ll advised GE. Suggestions of a peoples parliament were dismissed to draw a consensus on what brexit should look like. All evidence is no one got the brexit they voted for because no one was ever asked. I know someone who’s only ever voted twice in their life. Once at the referendum where they voted remain and in 2019 where they voted for Boris. Not because they believed in Boris, not because they believed in the oven ready deal but because they wanted brexit done and rid of the uncertainty. Neither of which has happened.I agree with the Get Brexit done point because everyone was sick of the stalemate in parliament. Still a disgrace. Not really. Like most people I’m looking forward to my first foreign holiday in 3 years this summer. The only emotion I feel is worry, worry that this won’t be sorted in time and we have a government so tied into the ideology that’s partly to blame for this crisis they’ll spend the next 2 months in denial rather than dealing with the issue. And how do you feel about that , Tony ? It must surely make you feel very happy to a large extent .
Frankly the airlines & airports can fuck right off. They can try & blame this calamitous government or the shitshow of the brexit "deal" but the plain truth of the matter is both the airlines & airports have greedily gobbled up a load of free furlough cash designed to retain staff, but then laid said staff off.....then massively over-sold flights they had no way of delivering whilst not planning for or paying more to recruit the additional staff required....
Fuck the airlines & fuck the airports. Cheeky furlough-thieving profiteering cunts.
To be fair to them the furlough was wound up months ahead of travel going back to anything like pre pandemic levels. Also, airports still worked at eg Manchester 10% of passenger numbers yet all the regulated work still needed to be done, have a look at the Manchester Airport Group accounts, furlough doesn't even touch the sides of their lossesFrankly the airlines & airports can fuck right off. That, Sir, is altogether the single best post I've read in a long time.Frankly the airlines & airports can fuck right off.
