What did you expect? He’s coming in as cover for ohare on a free and I’d imagine relatively small wages, It’s about the best we can get.
He turned down 12k at Cardiff. Those sort of wages would have him right up there with our highest earners.

Another example or how difficult it is to pick up prospects and bring them through. Had hopes at one stage for Drysdale and Morgan Williams. The pathway to the first team for the likes of Reid, Tavares etc doesn't look much clearer. Be interesting to see whether this gets looked at internally at the club.

The vast majority of u23 signings won't make the grade as most are inexpensive punts the club make in the hope that they develop into a first-team player and potentially become an asset to make a sizeable profit on.

The problem with the strategy is that the chances of an U23 player breaking through to the first team now is much harder with us being in the Championship so I'd argue assessing how effective it is in generating potential first-team talent/saleable assets is quite important over the next year or two. As really there's no sense in continually setting aside budget for signings such as Reid and Tavares, each of whom demanded fees, if the strategy isn't particularly working - i.e. generating players that at the very least will make a meaningful contribution to the season.

Reid seems poor scouting, Robins says he doesn’t have the attributes to play in our system

Palmer is a player I've always liked the look of. Shocked his stats are so low. Will be a massive step up from Allen as the second AM in the box though. Likes to try a key pass. Would rather that in his position than always taking a safe option.

He's also scored directly from a corner before, with how many times Gus tried that (without succeeding) last year, it's nice to know we'll still have that threat

I wouldn't have thought we are offering any more than Cardiff. Chance to resurrect his career under a coach he knows very well
