Shopping centre attack:

.It's a war crime. Put it in the notebook for later.

And these are just the ones we can verify. Christ knows what is going on in fully occupied areas.
My real point is that we can keep pointing the finger and shouting "war crime !" but it means absolutely nothing because those responsible will never be brought to trial so why bother? We all know what's going on. It's like a school bully beating the living daylights out of a girl in the playground knowing that the teachers are scared stiff of him but they're doing their bit by writing it all down. It's all pointless.
This is a war and in war there are absolutely no rules and that's the way it's always been.

To coin one of the first useful teaching phrases I heard

‘If you ignore it you condone it’

How many wouldn’t survive occupation?
Unknown but part of a negotiated settlement might be just to recognise the existing separatist areas as Russian or perhaps allowing what's left of the population to self determine. I don't know, I just believe that a prolonged war will see untold death and destruction and a hollow victory for whomever it may be.

This seems spectacularly naive. Russia has been open about its wish to annihilate Ukrainian culture, they’ve been forcing people to move, shooting and raping the population, forcing Russian citizenship on them. There’s no chance they’ll just let those in south east Ukraine crack on with their lives, and only a slim chance that’ll be the end of their aspirations.

The very fact you’re calling some occupied territory “separatist areas” brings your judgement and balance into question TBH.

Its far more balanced than nonsense saying Russia is going for European domination and will start rolling tanks through the rest of Europe

Can you explain to me what the alternative is?

Arm them.

There’s some long range multi launch rockets going into the field right now that could make a big difference. Russia is down to reservists and unwilling to conscript.

Best case is probably that they don’t lose the whole south coast and it’s ports. And push Russia back to Donetsk and Luhansk, away from as much of the oil fields as possible. But that will only happen if they’re forced back.

Do you believe there is a western stockpile of the type of weapons they'll need to do that?

At what point will you understand that he'll just regroup, send his 'separatists' further into Ukraine to get the narrative they want independence and go again? It won't stop the war, at best it will pause it so he can manufacture more weapons to bomb the fuck out of it and kill even more people.

How many people died after "peace in our time"?

At what point will you understand most military experts would say you are talking shite?

But doing that will just embolden Putin to repeat the tactics of putting his operatives into those areas so he can separate them over time too. It's not a solution - it's a lull in proceedings before it all happens again.

How? A negotiation where Ukraine gives up some territory won't change what Putin ultimately wants and will push for.

Again no military expert agrees with you do they?

Seems Ukraine is going to get a lot more military equipment that the Russians could only dream of having.

Wonder if Russia is about to take Kyiv?
