The next couple of years are going to be fun
The chancellor briefly put his head above the parapet, only to tell us it’s all our owns fault because we use too much fuel.Collectively all hiding in fridges today.
Can't even blame the heatwave.
Yea caught some other pundit on the news earlier spouting similar. The chancellor briefly put his head above the parapet, only to tell us it’s all our owns fault because we use too much fuel.

It's almost like they want the tory poll ratings to be so bad that no "shiny and new" bounce could helpGood, the more they do to alienate the public the better.
Thing is for her it doesn't matter if someone judges her on words or deeds - they'll both be an absolute horror show.Someone can’t be ‘too criminal’ to be PM but they can be ‘too boring’?
Emmanuel Macron responds after Liz Truss says 'jury is out' on whether he is 'friend or foe' - as PM calls French president a 'tres bon buddy'
The frontrunner to be the next prime minister said the "jury is out" on when asked if the French president is a "friend or foe" but that if she becomes leader, she will "judge him by deeds, not words".news.sky.com
Help has arrived, Zahawi has suggested we cut cut back on our energy use!!At some point, the government will *have* to help with fuel prices. The main question will be, whether people remember how long it took them to or not.
It’s a choice now? Has he also suggested cutting back on eating to beat the cost of living crisis? Still, as long as his horses are warm.Help has arrived, Zahawi has suggested we cut cut back on our energy use!!

It does read very much like it's peoples' fault if they can't afford it, though. This is 100% the right message. Unfortunately it should be coming alongside a support package announcement

There's a difference between not walking around in T-Shirts in winter, and not being able to use the oven.
Still, one way to stop people wfh(!)
Fuck the tories being chanted at the cricket, it's a bit of a sporting tradition these days

Edit - I’d have started mass advertising by now saying how much people can save every year by reducing shower lengths by x minutes, reducing thermostats by 1-2 degrees etc. start getting it into peoples heads now before autumn/winter.
The Labour Party have had so many open goals of late. People never forget broken promises, however, The Labour Party needs to show it can govern. The next election will be about voting for the least bad offer Of leadership. Keir Starmer is a wet lettuce. At some point, the government will *have* to help with fuel prices. Maybe. But it's a bit fucking rich coming from a guy that claimed taxpayers money to keep his fucking horses at his second home warm. This is 100% the right message. Unfortunately it should be coming alongside a support package announcement

There's always a real problem when members of political parties actually rub shoulders with the public.
I apologise if this has already been shared.
It is also the right message for environmental reasons and should apply even more to businesses. It's shocking seeing all these office lit up all night. This is 100% the right message. Unfortunately it should be coming alongside a support package announcement

We might have had this sorted years and years ago if we hadn't had governments that prioritised the profits of oil and gas companies over environmental impact and energy independence. It is also the right message for environmental reasons and should apply even more to businesses. Who knows if we had a coherent Government who didn't just wait until crises happen they might have suggested this years ago. Of course Truss feels the answer is cutting the green levies on fuel. Back to dealing with single issues and storing up trouble elsewhere. It's almost like they are stupid and incapable of ever thinking ahead.
I wasn’t surprised at all by that having had a five minute conversation with my postie on Thursday about it. The union clearly delivered a clear and concise reasoning to their members as my postie was all over the details on pay and conditions, didn’t mention the Luxembourg takeover but he clearly understood the importance of the strike. On that anecdotal personal evidence I’m not surprised that the turnout was so high and the vote to strike so complete.Another very impressive strike ballot achieved despite the anti union laws. No wonder Truss wants to make it illegal outright
