I don't think we were as good as a lot of fans thought we were last season. We were fairly poor, especially at home from Xmas onwards and we have now got weaker. Early results and late goals masked last season to look better than it could have been, and we are now weaker

Poor transfer window. We’re left well short at the back. That was the area we needed to strengthen in this window and we’ve lost Hyam, Maatsen and JCS and replaced with two new very inexperienced loanees. The squad is weaker than last year as the Championship doesn’t stand still and Hyam and Maatsen from last year haven’t been replaced.

That said still think we have more than enough to stay up this year but we’re back to the purgatory of 17th placed finishes.

Bigger question is with our ‘big three’ only now decreasing in value unless they tear up trees due to contract lengths where do SiSU go next?

Just can’t see them getting returns so are we back on life support and dropping back to League 1 in next couple of years?

Im not happy but Im comfortable after the window, we have improved in ways and done the opposite in others. We mow have good cover for O’hare in Palmer. We have 2 good LCBs in Doyle and Panzo (certainly improvements on JCS). We lost Hyam didnt replace but I’d back Rose to step up with consistent game time allowing him to get sharp and stay sharp. At the end of the day there are still free agents out there for if we need to improve further with the likes of Ben Foster, Ryan Bennet, Danny Rose etc
