Really think Johnson will be back before another election
He’s current favourite for next Tory leader

Not sure this is politics, but really interesting population predictions coming out of China, shown here also happening in other countries.

Priti Patel resigned every cloudFunny how Grenners and the other Tory right wingers are much quieter on here now Boris lad and tory party has imploded. Genuinely would like to know how they think Truss will perform and if not which candidate they would have picked from the leadership contest.
I think I guess why the old boy Tory councillors picked Truss over Sunak but just can't see her qualities
How long do you give before a General Election and would Starmer win it?

Not twice surely . Wasn't Amber Rudd a bedfellow also.Just hearing that Truss is likely to be appointing favourites/loyalists for main cabinet roles and those that didn’t support her excluded or in diminished roles
If that’s the case…when will they learn ?! There’s a lot riding on Kwarteng…hopefully not Truss

Interesting that Truss had a 1.5 year affair with fellow mp in 2006. Her children must have been tiny as now one of her teenagers doing GCSEs. Clasic Tory 'Back To Basics' family values.

I did say I would retire from the thread if she’s elected - she’s from a Corbynist family who once wanted to abolish the monarchy - its a reflection on politics - if Labour do not win an outright majority with her in charge then it’s truly a reflection on Starmer
I would imagine it's a chance for the nutters in charge of Labour to move the Party even more right.
I think it’s more likely to be the other way round and the red robbo tribute act Union man in the mockney accent is now the Tories only hope. A big Union general strike is what they need to get back support
I don't see how that can be seen as anything other than a government failure to act. One union here or there perhaps, but for so many sections of the workforce to all strike over the same issue reflects badly on the Tories, not the workers
Go for the general strike it always defeats the Labour movement - I want it
It's a bit hard to co-ordinate with how strong the anti union laws in this country are. I've said before, the teaching ballot will probably fail on turnout thresholds that are curiously never required for local or general elections, which also don't force people to vote by post.
At least you're honest anyway
The public really don’t like left wing zealots like mick lynch - refuse all pay deals national strike - country in chaos - oh they are all are Labour Party members and guess what even the leader doesn’t want it
You're out of touch with reality now. Things have moved on.The public really don’t like left wing zealots like mick lynch - refuse all pay deals national strike - country in chaos - oh they are all are Labour Party members and guess what even the leader doesn’t want it

We shall see - especially if such an event occurs and Mr Starmer does not support it - which he won’t
On the contrary I think most people who hear what he has to say end up thinking he's more reasonable than they were led to believe. He's made the media look daft questioning him plenty of times too.
Don't worry anyway, Truss wants to outlaw striking and would probably outlaw unions if she could. Fine for you approaching retirement but not for people with their working careers ahead and needing a mechanism to protect their working rights
Which would confirm neither of the two main party leaders care about working people
What does working people mean? Doctors, solicitors or non professionals?
I was going to comment but I can’t be bothered
