Just caught the live footage from Windsor castle where Harry and Megan are out meeting well wishers and being very well received by the public. Could be a turning point in the public opinion of them. The Mail and Express are going to be gutted.

He may well have had deep reservations over the last PM, both for his decision making and his conduct in office but I fail to see how he’s in a position to issue a warning to the new girl.
The Monarch possesses no real power, all political decisions are made by the HM elected Government.
The regular meetings between the Monarch and PM, the swearing in, the opening of parliament etc are all - like 80% of things that take place inside Westminster and the Royal households - displays of pomp, tradition and pageantry.

I was thinking specifically about the illegal proroguing of parliament. Boris sent Rees-Mogg there to prey on an old lady clearly lying in the process. It’s perhaps the most shameful act of a series of shameful acts under Boris Johnson. Permission to prorogue parliament is one of the real influences that the monarchy has on our parliamentary democracy. I don’t think it was an accident that Charles brought up democracy, he had no real need to. The warning is clearly that he see’s our democracy as constitutionally important and as our constitution is a gentleman’s handshake not a written one given that Boris tan roughshod over it stressing the importance of it at a time when there wasn’t a requirement I think could be read as clear message of what Charles values and setting his stall out.

You are joking aren’t you, they live amazingly private lives, we only see the rarest glimpse of them and that’s only in their official roles, their untold wealth, worldwide fame and access all areas and their unrivalled security arrangements allows them to lead the most extraordinary, luxurious, pampered & fulfilled lifestyle.
Think the lifestyle Boris Johnson enjoyed as PM :unsure: only from the cradle to the grave.

It's not difficult to find articles suggesting that the Queen had more influence than was known.

I absolutely agree, but the Queen was in no position to refuse Boris in his proroguing of parliament, she had no power to refuse the request and neither will Charles, approaching the Monarch for permission to do so is just following protocol, the political decision had already been made.

Its inappropriate - why they employed him who knows - I see he’s now claiming it’s down to mental health

I personally think Markle is a narcissist who seems to have fallen out with many people in her family over the years. I couldn’t care less what colour she is - she doesn’t strike me as much of a victim at all

A huge reward for failing in her original role, pretty much how this country operates. Johnson being an even bigger failure will of course rake in more

Well with anecdotes like the cheesy queen one I posted above, who wouldn’t pay good money to listen to after dinner gold like that.
As for Major laughing at Boris, could be because he’d just caught him checking ”whatever” on his phone, tho why anyone would need a particular reason to laugh at Boris, I’m not sure.
