The difference being that back then, they still had many potential future avenues to explore.
I am really not so sure that is the case today, presuming MA secures ownership of the arena (which seems very likely) it won’t be with the aid of a risky bond holders deal.
It will be with an all angles covered, financially airtight deal, meaning SISU would have no realistic future at the Arena other than as long term tenant to a very dominant Landlord.
Or of course they could play out the lease at the CBS arena whilst pressing on with the new build at the University
did anyone actually believe there was ever anything more to that ‘than another charade in the race for the Arena.
SISU have been hanging around for as long as they have because there has always been the possibility of a bigger reward a bit further down the road, I think that road closes permanently if MA comes in.
