1) Sports Direct already have a lot of stores but I'd bet the majority of their sales are online. So it's not unfeasible that they could need a new warehouse and the CBS is good for motorway access ;)

Frasers Group plans to move its HQ to the West Midlands over the next few years

would this be part of the reason why Ashley has been made preferred bidder, maybe he’s said if you give me the ground I’ll bring Fraser’s to Coventry, create new jobs etc, our lovely council give the administrator a little nudge in Ashley’s direction and it’s win win for both of them, it leaves us in the same position as we are now, stuck with SISU but paying our rent to a new landlord ?

Considering the administrators have a legal duty to get the best offer, it's not really win win for them, and considering how litigious Sisu are and how pissed off everyone is with the council it's not win win for them either.

It's probably just as simple as it looks: NEC and Ashley were the only serious interest.

He’s preferred bidder because - like buying a house - he’s bid the right money, shown his bank statement and it’s sold subject to contract. If he fails….

The Council needs to approve transfer of lease. He’s paved the way with a sweetener.

Ashley gets what he wants and council get what they want = win win ?

He might have to lose the helicopter as he's dropping from the board soon winding his activity down.

If Ashley offered say £20m for the club she'd have to go back to her investors, they couldn't turn it down surely
They were offered a deal worth around 15mill in league 2 and laughed it off. 20mill wouldn't even get a courtesy call.

The difference being that back then, they still had many potential future avenues to explore.
I am really not so sure that is the case today, presuming MA secures ownership of the arena (which seems very likely) it won’t be with the aid of a risky bond holders deal.
It will be with an all angles covered, financially airtight deal, meaning SISU would have no realistic future at the Arena other than as long term tenant to a very dominant Landlord.
Or of course they could play out the lease at the CBS arena whilst pressing on with the new build at the University  did anyone actually believe there was ever anything more to that ‘than another charade in the race for the Arena.

SISU have been hanging around for as long as they have because there has always been the possibility of a bigger reward a bit further down the road, I think that road closes permanently if MA comes in.

Pete is a very attractive man TBF.
He's very short sighted, so you're in with a chance if you keep your distance.

So short sighted in fact....he once came off at half time of a football match complaining that his legs were really burning under his socks. He found out after the game that instead of packing his deep heat gel in his kit bag, he'd accidentally picked up a tube of photo glue and spent 10 minutes massaging that into his legs before the game. Melted all his leg hair.
