I think the Council and their self-important original handling or the deal is what has got many people’s backs up.

If they had said,“look SISU, we’ve got another option so if you want the Arena stop with the silly shit. Better still let’s all sit around the table because maybe having Wasps here saves you some money on upkeep costs, maybe not. Let’s thrash it out. If you carry on with the distress nonsense then we have to do what’s best for the City”

The council didn’t. They pretended that they were some kind of Big City business dealers with a secret mission. They are not, they are civil servants with cheap suits at the behest of the taxpayer.
Let’s not forget that SISU were also their preferred bidder back in 2007 or whenever it was and put off the other bidders.

Certainly on paper yep although he’s clearly a xxnt

Which billionaire isn’t?

Literally all I want is Robins to not be cut off at the knees. I’d join you all if I ever thought Sisu could offer that. I don’t see why Sisu don’t offer the same terms to Ashley as they apparently did to this American investor. What’s their plan now? More legal action?

What were the terms offered and when was this?

The rumour was they had/have a deal with some Yanks that they buy the arena out of admin in exchange for 51% of the club and Sisu sit around suckling at the rest until they’re paid off.

I think it’s exactly the same: “buy us out either fully or partially. However, it won’t be for zero because:

a) we need to balance the books
b) we might hit the PL jackpot and in the meantime can tread water”

Ashley was brought in to look at refinancing the bonds. I’m guessing he saw the real state of the finances and concluded that it could be risky with the state of the Wasps group.

Following the logic line he saw that getting the Arena meant opportunity - particularly if peeled away from the group. I’ve explained how I thought this could be done pre-admin, but it would need:

a) permission from Trustee to BH
b) permanent from CCC to reassign lease

SISU were caught flat-footed to a degree but MA knew that parties a & b above would see him as more credible.

That’s where we are.

I did say it in a post before all the chocolate bollocks, but SISU were expecting admin. We all were. That was when they were going to offer, along with the americans they had brought in, deal ready to go, stadium and 51% of the club.

Sisu would only hang around with their 49% to cream off any potential prem/ massive sale of player/ future stadium sale money to recoup the remaining amount of their 'investment' since 07.

But again, they took the piss, waited too long thinking no one else would offer outside of admin and here we are

This doesn’t really make any sense.

If it’s 49% of shares then the only money they’d be entitled to would be dividends surely - which would be determined by the Board of Directors

The football club would have to be separate so I can’t see how it would work. Why be involved at all? Why not just agree an arrangement with the new owner where they receive an annual contribution from turnover

I can’t see why they’d agree to purchase a minority shareholding ti surrender power and influence

Because they’re not. This conspiracy theory has always been mental. Half the people you go on about trying to kill the club are long term season ticket holders FFS.

Trying to fuck over Sisu? Maybe. But the idea a bunch of Coventrians and long term supporters “hate the club” is just fever dream nonsense.

No they didn’t. But they promised it. As I said before this is like turning up to a job interview unwashed and in a dirty tracksuit and complaining you were the best person for the job.

Everything is someone else’s fault. It’s like being owned by a 12 year old. CCC have repeatedly said they want an owner for the arena that aligns with their vision for regeneration. Wasps and Ashley made those promises Sisu refused to cos reasons.

No attempt to even be involved in the process twice now. Just sit about moaning no one offered them the stadium exclusively for free.

If the council believe Ashley’s promises of “Regeneration” ( and we have no idea what they are) then they are even more stupid than we thought . He has never done anything but line his own pockets.

He took on the Shirebrook warehouse with EU funding and turned the area into a low pay zone where employment laws were deliberately flouted, treating people like shit until he was caught by undercover investigators and whistle blowers.

But mention the Regeneration word and Duggins comes nodding along. The hypocrisy is staggering.

SISU are wankers but seems like they only wanted to own their own ground with their bid. How fucking naive of them.

Couple of points of order.

Council were not for SISU's bid when they first rocked up. Their offer was described as 'derisory' by the then council leader.

I wouldn't believe SISU or CCFC any more than anybody else when they come to claiming how the current process has been staged. Their record wrt honesty is as shoddy as the best of them.

If they wanted to protect the club they’d sell us. You literally haven’t given me a response as to how the council have screwed then this time

why didn’t SISU do an Ashley - that’s the question here - nothing to do with the council
I don’t know everything and I’m only told what people want me to hear. Were involved until Ashley became the guy and then ignored. Ccc literally have no role in acl company but a lot in making it possible for everything else to happen

If I was robins I’d be threatening to go if Ashley doesn’t sign. He’d better send Viveash on the session though

This is or isn’t it Mike Ashley story will run and run. Interestingly he has resigned from the Fraser board how significant that is I don’t know. Now approaching his 60s perhaps being involved in a little football club in semi-retirement is attractive. I think he is a football person.
As for the Dawkins/Americans rumoured to be interested I don’t think they have gone away so I’m led to believe.
