McKennie and Pulisic perhaps. Started very brightly tonight anyway, Wales not had a sniff yet
Neither would get into England's team mate , Wales are far too passive here , USA recently struggled against Japan and Saudi Arabia

They have to start pressing them

Good to see us put them to the sword in probably second gear and I’m not too concerned about the two goals. One was a pen that was probably a tad harsh (especially considering the foul on Maguire) and the other was a decent goal, albeit if Maguire hadn’t got injured he probably would’ve prevented it anyway. Grealish, Wilson and Rashford coming on and having that impact was great to see and is a huge plus going forward. Mount and Bellingham were both superb and it was like they were everywhere. Every loose ball seemed to be picked up by one of those two and the best compliment I could pay them was Rice could’ve sat in the stand with a hot dog. Can’t remember the last time I could say that about him in an England shirt.

It was very hot at kick off but no more than it will be in 18 months in Germany. The players coped well and the next few will be at night which will be a bonus.

Atmosphere wasn’t the best and I expected it to be a lot more partisan in the Iran sections. They significantly outnumbered us but I don’t think you’d know it. Luckily we managed to get in before the carnage outside but the staff on the gates were very unprepared and made some very odd comments and decisions. They didn’t know anything about the flag approval form from FIFA and didn’t want to let us take three sterilised bottles in as we only had one baby! Also they were indicating that there was food in the kiosks so there was no need to take the Ella’s Kitchen pouches in.

Either way 3 points and 6 goals are on the board. We’re looking forward to Friday and we’re going to get to a couple of games before then.

Glad you got in ok and enjoyed game. Be interesting to see if Southgate sticks with 4 at back or reverts to 5. Good for squad that so many players were able to make positive contributions n the first game.

Heard you on Smooth Radio this morning. And had a chuckle at your over-graciousness when you said it’d be no walk in the park.

Have Wales got the same sick bug we had? They looked absolutely shattered after 10 minutes

Can't even work out the formation

Agree with all of the above - USA are worth more than their one goal lead. Wales can't lay a glove on them. On this performance, I'm not that sure they'd beat Iran. Some players look knackered, some just poor. The amount of times they have passed back to their keeper has been embarrassing - like others have said, they don't look like they know what they are trying to do.

It is, long gone are the days of the USA team being made up of MLS no hopers. Vast majority play good standard European football.

While Pulisic might not start for England (and I agree, we're blessed with attacking midfielders), he's a very very good player. Likewise McKennie
