I think it’s fair to say that the only way we beat France (should we progress) next Saturday is if Mbappe gets injured in training.

Intrigued to see what team he goes for tonight.

I don’t think it’s a game for pace as they’ll match us, as many technicians on the pitch as we can wins us the game IMO.

Would love only one proper holding midfielder (Rice or Phillips), alongside Bellingham with someone like Maddison in place of Mount/Henderson but it won’t happen.

Feels like we’re running out of things to criticise Southgate for in terms of team selection.

I could've sworn up until the point he scored, a fair swell of opinion around these parts was Rashford wasn't up to it, and Southgate was a fool for picking him.

Saka has done well this world cup, looked a serious threat against Iran, scored too... so it's not really a slap in the face, is it? And Foden stays in, which we all(?) wanted.

Yeah, I am not too unhappy. Very brave though to drop a player who bagged two last time out.

If we were to somehow lose (which I don't think we will), it will be carnage on social media. 🤪

Definitely. I am sure many were calling for him to be substituted at half time.

Indeed. Not a Southgate fan really but can't moan at that really. Scoring against Wales is like scoring against Barnsley anyway.

He was gash first half against Wales, then he wasn’t. You’ve got to play strikers who are scoring.
