Open up block 13. DO NOT issue separate STs for 'Singers Corner'.

The whole atmosphere in that area of the ground developed organically and has been the best we've had for years.

Now fucked by the security.

Where I agree that not on one occasion this season has the atmosphere matched anything from last season, but last season we never had a run of 1 win in 9. Loud support won’t just carry on hammer and tongs with such shit form, with regards to this season.

They buy tickets in block 2 or 3 then go drinking in club Coventry or one of the boxes.

Yep, it was sparse all game. Getting emptier every week and yet you cannot buy a ticket up there because they took off hundreds of seats from sale.

It has been ruined and the lack of support for the team from there that was there last season is showing - the club seriously need to sort it out for next season even if it means asking everyone in the corner to move behind the goal and making them pay on the gate blocks or something similar

They tried to encourage that after we moved back but people want to be near the away fans. If its a a free for all then fans will overcrowd the area and inevitably course some kind of trouble. This led to these measures i the first place after the Derby game

Its not me who you need to disagree with. The safety group clearly agree. City could want to open up all blocks but wouldnt be given the safety certificate to do it. When 3 blocks of people have 2-3 times the amount of fans in than it should do the is an issue

if people want the restrictions removed they have to give the club a strong hand. there is zero chance when the club is constantly having to issue warnings about fan behaviour and people can't attend matches without running on the pitch, doing class As, not sitting in the right seat, trying to get to away fans etc

doesn't matter if you agree with the restrictions or not just think how the safety meeting is going to go. the club go in and ask for changes and they get presented with a list of ongoing issues. they need to be able to go into the meeting and show how there has been no issues over an extended period, until that point forget about it. suspect there's more chance of restrictions in block 3 & 4 being brought in at the moment than anything else

Not forgetting the same supporters travel away from home and are routinely often no more than a few feet and a line of stewards away from opposing fans, without issue.

The whole thing was a gross overreaction to a non-problem. The minor issue of overcrowding could easily have been resolved by ticket checks, the same ticket checks that they introduced and which are working it seems. They didn't, on top of that, need to take 10-15% of tickets in blocks 14 and 15 off sale and cap the capacity. Total overkill.

People who defend this nonsense clearly don't travel to away games. None of the measures we see at the CBS; reduced capacities, massive areas of segregation, 80s style security fences outside are used anywhere else in the country. I refuse to believe that we are so much of an outlier that we need all this.

Of course you can argue subjectively about whether the measures are overly draconian, but the fact is measures are in place because fans misbehaved.

And you're willfully ignoring the fact that there are loads of empty seats in the corner precisely because people without tickets aren't moving there. The ticket checks are clearly working, so put the closed seats back on sale. Your whole argument is based around something that isn't happening.

Why is the "separation" at games like the Manchester Derby, Merseyside Derby, North London Derby and many other games where the fans hate each other usually a couple of rows of seats and some times a staircase with stewards on it yet we have to have 2 fucking blocks?

No behaviour by the City fans can be used to justify what is a massive overreaction by the SGA, it'll be different next season as some of the worst offenders won't be in the SGA.

Bang on. The bigger the segregation, the more hyped up and over confident fans get.

There's no club in England with this level of segregation. None.

The club and safety group need to work with fans like Stoke and Reading have done. Build trust. Make it zero tolerance and ban those who want to break the rules. Reading and Stoke divide fans by a few feet these days. Our segregation gets bigger each week. The club are keen to show off the corner in their twitter videos but are not working with fans to ensure it stays that way.

I hate to say it, but I have a feeling 14 will be closed next season. Just like they did in 2010.

Meanwhile, there were 30+ stewards standing doing absolutely nothing all game yesterday by the corner. Waste of money. Ruins the atmosphere. Creates tension.

The people running on the pitch get an immediate ban. Closing half of Singers corner doesn't stop that happening.

As I've mentioned in another post. It's time to work with fans on this. If I had time I'd love to put something forward to the club. Make it a little more organised. Fund banners and flags.

Penalising the majority because some people have run on the pitch and one fan once ran over the segregation against Derby 14 months ago is unfair.

Huddersfield, Stoke, Swansea, Burnley, Derby Reading, Luton, Norwich, Hull etc are all grounds we've been to in the last 18 months where fans are separated by a line of stewards and a few rows of seats. Not any trouble inside the ground at any of those games despite the fact people think we are this anti-social hooligan football club.

What exactly has happened to make us out like criminals? A bit of afters after the game is irrelevant, and metal detectors aren’t going to find drugs which seems to have been the only problem mentioned. The only violence in the ground I can remember making news was the lad that went and kicked an away fan in front of stewards and unless they’re going to confiscate our shoes on entry I’m not sure how you stop that.

Someone, somewhere needs to answer these questions because it’s beyond a joke and affects the club financially and on the pitch.

To take these in order: nothing but stewards will stop fans running on the pitch and if that’s the issue block off the front rows not the corner.

Nothing but sniffer dogs and increased stewards will stop drugs.

Nothing will stop fans sitting in the wrong seat but stewards can help if it’s a problem.

There’s eleventy billion rows of netting between us and away fans and two lines of stewards. Again none of the measures will stop that.

It’s like saying we all have to wear red noses when driving because some people aren’t wearing seatbelts. It’s purely collective punishment for no valid reason.

We don't need it. Look at the hooligan figures across the UK, Coventry does not have a particular problem. The derby issue that gets cited was caused by about 100 derby fans closing in on the home fans by moving into the empty seats. 1 Coventry fan got into that area

That's off the back of complaints from other supporters so not something that can be blamed on the SAG

We also have people saying they've moved to a different part of the ground to avoid trouble, or in some cases considering not attending at all and people saying they will no longer go to away games because of the constant trouble. Is there some sort of mass hallucination going on?

We all want the restrictions removed but we need to do our part and give the club a strong hand when they're making their argument

But these issues exist at lots of clubs, many of which have also put statements on their websites, yet no other club takes the ludicrous measure ours does.

As a consequence the great atmosphere which was created last season has been dimi ished due to total over kill.
