Choices, choices. So its the guy who lost 9 in a row with Notts County, the guy who over two season took Barnsley to 17th in the championship or the guy with P10 sponsorship deal. Am I the only one not excited about our chances of a turn around of fortunes with this lot.

I'm voting Ince, purely on the basis that he may have the biggest chance of getting some decent loans. (Sir Alex)
But isn't this almost the most insipid, unimaginative final three we could have picked, none strike me as being the right appointment.

3 managerial appointments, sacked all 3 times.
One bit of success at Hull and nothing but failure after that. He had success nearly 4 years ago. Nothing since.
Famously bollocked the players on the pitch at half-time (which some on here champion as a good thing), but after that debacle the team then went on to win just ONE out of the next NINETEEN games.Therefore the people on here that hold that up as some kind of beacon are wrong.
Listen to what the Preston fans have to say about him. Playing people out of position, the wrong tactics, sending the youth team up a fell and making them find their own way back down and home again which totally backfired on him.

Read GMK. Pretty much to a man people are really against Phil Brown coming here.
If that's the 3 candidates Brown has to be at the very bottom of the pile ... and then some.
The thought of Brown deeply worries me and many others.
One spell of success followed by nothing but failure.

I'd take Ince or Robins. No real rhyme or reason. Not sure it matters anymore. Ince has the strength of character to cope with it. I am aware of his County record.
Certain it won't be Brown.
Fisher is stumped in my opinion, his first and cheapest choice Richard Shaw hasn't come up with the goods, not nescesarily all his fault but to appoint him now is impossible. Dennis Wise IF he was ever interviewed would cost money and sisu would not sanction that and none of the others tick many supporters boxes and without doubt he monitors these websites, perhaps "hands on" Sepalla could take her hands of the tiller and on to the wheel and start steering the ship a little.

I would go for Ince for the following reasons
1) We need someone to be tough on the players, and I feel he could be without alienating the squad like Brown seems to have done at most his clubs.
2) Of all the candidates he has had the best and most prolific career, and if our stupid, overpaid, under performing bag of cr*p squad dont respond to being treated hard, I hope they would at least respond to soemone who reached the top of his profession and hope that they would have the respect for him, and want to do well.
3) They may respect the fact that as a man and a father he has produced a very exciting football talent in his son, which shows that as a coach he might have a clue what he is doing.
Just my thoughts.

I voted Ince too; he should be able to inspire our players and his contacts could be used to good effect.

I voted for Mark Robins. He did really well with Rotherham United during one of the worst periods in the clubs history. They had no money and were bottom of the league. He steered them clear of the relegation zone and got them challenging for promotion not long after. He also got Barnsley off the bottom of the league when he took over at Oakwell, again with little money to spend. For me, he's the only manager of the three that has proved he can still get results with little or no money to spend. He's a no nonsense type that will give the players a kick up the backside. I think people are looking at the wrong former Man U player tbh. Robins will suit where Cov are at the moment.

If in fact these 3 are the candidates, then it's a tough one. I would have opted for Brown, but after studying all 3s credentials then I agree, Paul Ince would be my preference.
His time at Notts County has blotted his copy book, but we have a far superior squad of players here that I truely believe are capable of better things.
Your comment about the respect factor is spot on, how could the players not respect the Guv'nor?

There should be a non of the above option as it would win by a mile. Non of them are what I want. They are all riddled with failure. The one that puzzles me the most is Robins as he hasn't got anyone promoted and his spell at Barnsley was mediocre say the least. At least Brown and Ince have achieved something albeit a long tome ago. Ince and his record 9 game losing streak at Notts County isn't the kind steadying the ship I'm looking for. How many years ago now was he at Macclesfield when he did well? For me Brown is the best of a very bad bunch. Can we have the next three please?

His spell at Barnsley appears not to be mediocre when you consider they would have been relegated last season if not for Portsmouth's 10 point deduction!

Robins is a decent manager, as stated before, he did a great job at Rotherham and then went to Barnsley and got them there highest finish in the championship since they got promotion out of that league back when Danny Wilson was there manager.
So I don't see where mediocre comes into that.
Allways done it on a budget and the other thing I like about him is that when he was a player, he was a striker, unlike Coleman, Thorn ect ect.
