Failing to say he she and using they is my practice.Always? How many are you running into? Then on top of that after running into them how do you find yourself in a situation where you have to mention their sex?

Fisherthem almost convinced me the whole thing was a massive troll. In which case, fair play. That person is just a Fisher person and not an angler.
And definitely not just spending a lot of time in certain parts of Thailand?Failing to say he she and using they is my practice.

I don't agree. It’s not a policy I personally agree with but there always seems to be a casual assumption that those who are transsexual are more likely to be sex offenders based on the actions of individuals in the news.
No one is arguing a case for sex offenders being able to do whatever they want. From what I’ve seen in the media, there’s often a focus on that person who walks around with ZZ fake breasts and skin tight leggings that are particularly tight on their crotch - that sort of thing is absurd but most trans people would also ageee.I don't agree.
The biggest problem we have is the weirdos who play it to their advantage. Yet we are not supposed to have a voice on the matter.
I don't have the slightest problem with trans people. What I have a problem with is those who have the thought that they are untouchable.
And that they need to piss off for this reason is just a sideline.Which is of course an absolute farce and this has of course been allowed to happen under a Conservative government. Another reason they need to piss off

It’s the case one person, who I believe is an actual sex offender. So you agree finally
I go by the logic it doesn't hurt me to call people whatever they want to be called, so why shouldn't I.OK fair, I think calling an individual they/them is utter nonsense but its completely avoidable by just using someone's name of course, which I guess is the polite thing to do if you think its nonsense.

Retraining my brain to refer to someone a certain way even though I think it's rubbish isn't for me I'm afraid, I don't wish to indulge the attention seeking. As I said, to avoid rudeness I use the name.I go by the logic it doesn't hurt me to call people whatever they want to be cashed, so why shouldn't I.
Have to admit this made me laugh - I had to watch an interview with him on CBS in the USA he didn’t come across well at all.Is Sam smith now them as he’s the size of two people?
Yeah not referring to them as their ‘new’ sex would be pretty cuntish.Retraining my brain to refer to someone a certain way even though I think it's rubbish isn't for me I'm afraid, I don't wish to indulge the attention seeking. As I said, to avoid rudeness I use the name.
Just so we're clear this is separate to the trans issue, if someone becomes a woman or man through surgery and presumably after lots of assessments of their state of mind (as an adult of course) then it's very unkind not to refer to them as their new sex.

I have it sometimes that people use my full title (technically, it's Doctor). I don't like it, it's for snobbish reasons people do so I ask them not to. I'd consider it discourteous for somebody to ignore that request.Retraining my brain to refer to someone a certain way even though I think it's rubbish isn't for me I'm afraid, I don't wish to indulge the attention seeking. This is spot on though.SBT Off Topic Chat: 'Why have none of us been on the winning side of an election for so long'?

No, I was agreeing with you but taking it a bit further than unkind.I don't get it? Does my language need correcting?

Well yeh it would be dickish. I don't think many people outside of absolute cunts would do that. Identifying as the opposite sex without doing anything to suggest you wish to transition or identifying as a mystery genderless person can get in the bin.No, I was agreeing with you but taking it a bit further than unkind.
The amount of energy spent debating these issues, relative to their importance to most people’s everyday lives, is honestly insane.SBT Off Topic Chat: 'Why have none of us been on the winning side of an election for so long'?

Exactly why not to use it. I'm not, they're proper doctors! Otherwise it's just a pretension. Are you a medical doctor? Because I have this thing on my testicles that I'm not sure about. I'll DM you a pic.

The free bit wasn't that main aim of the policy, but somebody with your level of insight into anything wouldn't understand thatLike countless billions to save people £20 a month on free Internet?

That was laughable really. Years of complaining that awards were defined by gender. That gets removed and after I think one year of gender neutral awards there's now demands to go back to the old system as there's not enough female winnersI think smith was getting some veiled criticism at the Brits as Smith was largely blamed for removing gender awards
I might be being naive here but where are people going where there are gender checks made before allowing entry? As in having to provide proof
Obviously there's signed separate facilities but if, for example, someone who presents as female goes in a female changing room who is challenging them and demanding proof of gender?
No idea what happens if a guy walks into a women's toilet, certainly nobody seems to bat an eyelid when women use the gents cubicles because there's a massive queue for the ladies. Would having a particular rule in place stop a wrongun that wanted to attack women? What happens if you walk into a women’s toilet? No idea, I’ve never tried it. The mere fact of trying it would highlight me as a wrongun.
The more serious questions are around sports, prisons and refuges which certainly can check.

The other areas you highlight are a different thing really. Sport comes down to competitive advantage. If there is no difference then why do we have separate events? In that situation you're looking to balance the needs & rights of the individual against the integrity of the sport. I doubt there would be much complaint over female players in the darts or snooker for example where most people would not consider there to be a competitive advantage one way or the other. But something like weightlifting or boxing I suspect would get a much stronger resistance
For things like prisons & refugees its more a safeguarding issue. I don't think there's anyone suggesting it is OK for a sex offender to suddenly declare they are female and be sent to a women's prison mixed in with the general population. Reasonable to expect those situations would be dealt with on a case by case basis. Does the same not apply now? Would a male prisoner in a mens prison not be segregated from the general population if they were considered a danger to the rest of the prison population?
Seems to me there's a lot of noise around situations that the vast majority of the population will never encounter
Personally, I don’t have a problem with gender neutral toilets - I’ve used them plenty of times when living in Brighton. I just few bad because you inevitably get tossers pissing over the toilet seat still.
Yeah, I guess it depends on the context. I was over in New York recently and quite a few bars had them as well - they still take me by surprise though. I just try to be considerate when using them but they are always going to be some bellends.I’ve used plenty in clubs over the years and was more than happy….the state of gents toilets these days are usually a disgrace. My point is that I’m not sure a majority of women feel the same certainly in all settings. Also most places if you take the urinals out, the queues will be round the block or half the venue taken up in cubicles.
One that has made the headlines being a rapist then going to a woman's prison. It’s the case one person, who I believe is an actual sex offender.
