There's probably some stat knowledgeable team who are also looking at the voting age profile, and deciding that young people are engaged on social media, but don't actually turn up to their polling station.
I threatened my kids (now 38 and 32) with expulsion from the family inheritance if the didn't vote. They can vote for who they like, but they must vote.
They both moaned, at age 18 respectively, that they couldn't be bothered and most of their mates didn't vote anyway.
Compulsory voting and PR is the way to go.
