Transfer Rumour Panzo coming back? (1 Viewer)

Negative comments about Panzo show recency bias.

In the 13 games before the World Cup break we kept 10 clean sheets with Panzo starting all of them. We only conceded to Burnley (best team in the league), Blackpool (because everyone had the shits), and Rotherham. During the break people were saying we should try to sign him.

Then came slow form for the whole team coming back, Wrexham, & injury - he never really got going but Doyle did. Needs consistent game time but with it is a very solid Championship signing.

Agree, the lad was left out after WC break so naturally lost form coming on as a sub. Coming on as a defensive substitute is always slightly more difficult. You usually don’t get any time to settle in

Such a no brainer IMO.
Surely he could get 2-3 x 20k per week in the Premier League? He is so good and would obviously love to keep him but I can't see it at this stage of his career. There's a EURO next summer and if he's in the PL he'll be far more likely to be on Koeman's radar.

With Hamer - there’s more of his ability in his position then there is a Gyokeres - yes he’s our best player, yes we’ll never replace him - but if you’re say West Ham. You could find a player of similar ability in Europe for a third of the price

same with Sheaf -he’s class, but you can pick up a Sheaf for far cheaper than we’d want

Is he considered Dutch or Brazilian ?

The only issue with the £20k p/w is if other players have clauses in their contracts to match or percentage match the highest earner.

That would be such a dumb clause to put in.
Yep. For me it'd be a bit of a red flag and I'd cancel a transfer over such a request.

For me I'd have it more as a pay grade system, but with the first team being paid pretty much the same basic pay with a lot in bonuses based on how much they feature.

It's a team game, so clean sheet and goal bonuses should be paid to every player on the pitch at the time. Could make flair players just try that bit harder defensively and make attackers choose the best option to score than take it on themselves if they had a personal goal bonus.

Just imagine you’ve handed a four year deal with that clause then a billionaire comes in, and in two years we’re paying people £200k/wk while Johnny Championship sat in the bomb squad has the right to £150k/wk for another two years.

Sounds daft but I think it happens, wasn’t Paul Pogba on some deal like that at Man Utd.

I often wonder if this is a real thing or just a football manager game addition.
At times during the dark days I’d lose touch of what was and wasn’t reality when it came to FM. I imagine it’s probably an actual clause though - not sure we’d actually use it though.

I'm surprised my now wife stuck with me through some if my more addictive play 🤣 always seemed an odd clause and I'd assumed it was there to make the game harder than a real one but who knows!

If anyone came to me and moaned at Gus on £20k I’d tell them to come back when they’re bossing games single handed, and in double figures for goals and assists, not to mention a fans favourite. There’s no one close in terms of value to the club tbh. Even Vik.

Far from unusual though.

Iirc McFadz was alleged to have had a sense of humour failure when the club took an option to extend his contract for a year last summer without matching the wages of others

In contrast his new contract this year was sorted v early on.

I think you really are playing Football Manager whilst browsing on here aren’t you?
