Same. Threads on here are a f*cking labyrinth.Thought the 20k was in reference to Panzo for a brief moment when I saw that post

If that’s what he wants we’d be tinpot not to pay it
we’ve made 2/3m from an unexpected play off run- that’s a 3 year 20k a week contract
Surely he could get 2-3 x 20k per week in the Premier League? He is so good and would obviously love to keep him but I can't see it at this stage of his career. There's a EURO next summer and if he's in the PL he'll be far more likely to be on Koeman's radar.Such a no brainer IMO.
With Hamer - there’s more of his ability in his position then there is a Gyokeres - yes he’s our best player, yes we’ll never replace him - but if you’re say West Ham. You could find a player of similar ability in Europe for a third of the priceSurely he could get 2-3 x 20k per week in the Premier League? Is he considered Dutch or Brazilian ?Surely he could get 2-3 x 20k per week in the Premier League? He is so good and would obviously love to keep him but I can't see it at this stage of his career. There's a EURO next summer and if he's in the PL he'll be far more likely to be on Koeman's radar.

And we don't know what the wage structure can handle without us going bust, againThe only issue with the £20k p/w is if other players have clauses in their contracts to match or percentage match the highest earner.

Yep. For me it'd be a bit of a red flag and I'd cancel a transfer over such a request. That would be such a dumb clause to put in.

For me I'd have it more as a pay grade system, but with the first team being paid pretty much the same basic pay with a lot in bonuses based on how much they feature.
It's a team game, so clean sheet and goal bonuses should be paid to every player on the pitch at the time. Could make flair players just try that bit harder defensively and make attackers choose the best option to score than take it on themselves if they had a personal goal bonus.
I often wonder if this is a real thing or just a football manager game addition. The only issue with the £20k p/w is if other players have clauses in their contracts to match or percentage match the highest earner.

Sounds daft but I think it happens, wasn’t Paul Pogba on some deal like that at Man Utd.Just imagine you’ve handed a four year deal with that clause then a billionaire comes in, and in two years we’re paying people £200k/wk while Johnny Championship sat in the bomb squad has the right to £150k/wk for another two years.
At times during the dark days I’d lose touch of what was and wasn’t reality when it came to FM. I imagine it’s probably an actual clause though - not sure we’d actually use it though.I often wonder if this is a real thing or just a football manager game addition.
Christ
I'm surprised my now wife stuck with me through some if my more addictive play always seemed an odd clause and I'd assumed it was there to make the game harder than a real one but who knows! At times during the dark days I’d lose touch of what was and wasn’t reality when it came to FM. Think it happens more at the top. Even if there aren't official clauses though it can cause unrest.Sounds daft but I think it happens, wasn’t Paul Pogba on some deal like that at Man Utd.
AmenIf anyone came to me and moaned at Gus on £20k I’d tell them to come back when they’re bossing games single handed, and in double figures for goals and assists, not to mention a fans favourite. There’s no one close in terms of value to the club tbh. Even Vik.
Amen
11 goals 10 assists from centre mid
absolute joke
That would be such a dumb clause to put in.

Far from unusual though.
Iirc McFadz was alleged to have had a sense of humour failure when the club took an option to extend his contract for a year last summer without matching the wages of others
In contrast his new contract this year was sorted v early on.
