Be serious. He’s like 6 years younger than Eccles and 2 years younger than Howley and playing regularly in the championship. He might not turn out to be his brother but he’s still some player.
Can’t work out with this transfer. On game time, he played mostly at the end of the season. Does that suggest they were putting him in the shop window?

It wouldn’t make sense for Blues to sell for £3m if they thought he was a talent. If he was they’d get triple that in 12 months, because with that name other clubs would take notice.

It’s not like he’s gone to an elite club, they must know that this is a good deal for them, and Sunderland are paying a premium on the name.

Just caught up with days of posts in this thread and even by this forums standards its batshit crazy. The annual 'where's the new kit' and 'why haven't we signed anyone' posts are to be expected, they are what keeps the forum ticking over every summer but some of the other stuff seems a stretch to say the least

There's more than a whiff of people who were getting access to corporate at far below market rate and / or access to players & management throwing their toys out of the pram
is there a WhatsApp group putting pressure on king of course
This is just embarrassing. If people can't afford the pricing on offer then move somewhere else like the rest of us. A WhatsApp group to put pressure on the owner to give them a preferential deal, that's definitely something I wouldn't be wanting made public knowledge if I was part of it

Not saying King will get everything right or has to date but some of the stuff is really a stretch. Robins apparently hates King yet has just signed a long term contract and has openly spoken that he is pleased the club now has stability. Not really the signs of someone desperate to leave

Let's be honest, other areas of the club have been heavily criticised for several years and the get out has always been 'but SISU'. Anywhere you care to look on the business side of the football club has had issues. There been people who have posted on here that they have approached the club about commercial opportunities or wanting to spend money and haven't even been able to get a reply, there's constant complaints about the club shop, both the range available and the service, ticketing is always under fire and people have been pushing for Boddy to go since the day he walked through the door

It's not hard to interpret the rumours of the staff not being happy with how King is running things being them having been told their work isn't up to scratch and things need to improve

Now King may turn out to be a total disaster but there's a lot that needed changing and so far we have record season ticket sales, a deal to play at the stadium which gives us priority and access to facilities - no more closing corporate on match days and things like that, a new pitch, improvements at the training ground and extended deals for the management duo. It hardly seems a club in crisis

As for the 'I know something but I can't tell you' rubbish, just don't say anything. Why stir up shit if you're not going to give any details

I think he’s only listening as his plan flopped
Bizarrely if Boddy/Scope etc were telling him they wouldn't sell at that price and he ignored them it makes them seem the more competent.

Doesn't do much for Doug's standing within the club if he is micromanaging and not listening to people then having to do what they said in the first place when his plan fails. That's twice he's had to change his mind because he's overpricing. Very difficult to have faith in someone like that - you always feel like you're fighting their fires but being blamed for it.

I worked for someone like that for a bit. Owner of the company. Absolute fuck wit. Constantly ignoring advice then backtracking. Everyone left at the first opportunity.

But if you had to micromanage a situation and bring it to a successful conclusion because a senior employee wasn't able to would you be likely to trust their judgement going forward?

Hopefully he'll be a bit less gung ho going forward but maybe there's good reason he's behaved like this.

This isn’t how business works or this story plays out. If King doesn’t rate Boddy et al they will leave and be replaced by people he does who are aligned to King. These new people are even less wedded to the past and historic relationships and practices. King gets stronger not weaker.

I think the lad wanted to partner back up with the coach - Dodds, brother and family really felt like he developed Jude according to a few Blues fans

I was just pointing out that if King doesn't rate Boddy but Boddy told him what he was going to do would fail, it actually makes Boddy look like the one who knows what he's talking about.

But because we live in a capitalist society King has the control and so even though he was the one who fucked up he's not the one that will leave. So yes, King will bring in people who are aligned to him, but that doesn't mean they'll be better. If king does micromanage it could well be the people he brings in are just yes men that will do as he says without pushback. So then really it's down to how good a decision maker king is, and given he's had to backtrack twice already that may not be brilliant.

“we live in a capitalist society” lol

You at the time supported the plan and said my idea of stepped pricing was a “terrible idea”

We don’t have any evidence yet that Kings plan has failed. Season tickets revenues already higher than last year. Corporate boxes look like being at least 40% higher than last year.

Fully backtracked apparently

20k including Vat so whats that 17k when people claim that back through company?

Got his tail between his legs with CBS for the shirt sponsor aswell by all accounts

Clueless - he’s having to re-price corporate as his idea was hopelessly naive

You can’t claim it back in reality and if it’s that high (I though £16k) it’s still not going to work

If he’s sold 8 at 25k and sells another 32 at 17k he’s raised near enough 750k. So despite looking like a dickhead his plan has worked.

It hasn’t because it’s not just short term revenue that matters and anyway do you really think those that have already purchased won’t demand parity?

Who’s to say these customers he’s gained won’t be long term revenue. Even if he gives those who’ve purchased parity with the new prices, he’s still nearly doubled the revenue on last year.

En contraire mes amis! I think it shows that DK listens and isn’t afraid to adjust his prices/business plan accordingly. A good businessman always listens and isn’t afraid of change.

Not the way to develop a pricing model for custom loyalty - just doesn’t work

Hopefully he develops the actual corporate experience to reflect the new pricing as a minimum then. I’ll be honest I can’t see him messing up the pricing again next season as I do not think he will be here.

He had to listen as customers weren’t there - it’s like a few so called pricing experts on here - it was really an embarrassing proposal

Even if he doesn’t sell all he only has to sell 20 altogether to match revenue last year. I don’t doubt over the season they would all fil up anyway

Hes said they won't get the new price so if they kick off he may have to back track again.
Looks like those of us who said he should have done it incrementally were right.

He's already said he'll improve the experience and given details of the prices over the next 2 or 3 years.
