I know you don't, that's the problem.

Well it’s hardly a problem it’s my opinion - it’s odd that you often mock the state of the Russian military yet believe they are capable of world dominance if they take over Ukraine

I don’t see any logic to that statement

I guess is rests on whether you believe post any coup Russia would just let the Ukrainians crack on or would have enacted the genocide they keep talking about and are enacting in occupied territories.

I have never said they are capable of world dominance, quite the opposite.

Doesn't mean that Ukraine should have just rolled over and invited Vlad in for a cuppa like you wanted them to.

No it depends on if you believe Russia are remotely capable of taking any other country which they aren’t - a prolonged war suits the West so we will be visiting this thread for many years to come

Of course not Ukraine should resist as much as it can - why mention Hitler if it wasn’t a fear of greater dominance?

So how many Ukrainians do you think would have lost their lives under your plan? How did you see it panning out?

Without western intervention far less as they’d have capitulated

Because whether it's one country or the entire world the point is the same.

You're saying countless lives would have been saved if Ukraine had capitulated, insinuating that is the better option.

Which means presumably you think allowing Germany to crack on in WW2 was the better option to save lives.

Well no as again Russia aren’t capable of occupation of the whole of Europe - it’s of no danger to the wider world whatsoever

Anyway I’ll revisit this thread in a couple of years when I’m sure nothing will have changed

So they're welcome to Ukraine then. That's what you're saying, whether you mean it or not.

You have to feel for the collateral though , like others have said, got to have been brave or stupid to travel with that man😬

I take your point mate, which is that of a decent human being.

Given that it sounds like at least some of the others in the plane were Wagner too though, I'm more of the "fuck 'em and let them rot in hell" opinion.

The only thing that could've made it better was if the jet could've crashed on Putin. It's horrible to celebrate death, but my gut feel is that these particular guys deserve little better.

And yes it does sound a bit careless doesn't it. If I was Prigozhin I'd have been living in a windowless bungalow, eating solely out of tins, avoiding door handles and suspicious underwear, and doing the school run in a tank (that someone else started for me). 😁

Yeah I said at the time he'd surely be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.

But I guess Russia is so fucked up that maybe he genuinely believed whatever assurances Putin gave him? They seem to believe what they want to hear over there, rather than the actual truth.

He tried coming back from the point of no return. Really if you're going to march on Moscow as part of some armed insurrection, you'll probably only get one go at it.

Mad isn't it. I was merely married to a Russian, but would still avoid walking past the London Palladium, because palladium sounded too close a word to polonium.

Prigozhin was either very stupid or very stubborn.

Some masked men claiming to be Wagner mercenaries have released a video promising revenge. Perhaps not totally unexpected perhaps and who knows how many will get behind them but at the least Putin has probably promoted some domestic terrorism to some extent.

The most depressing thing about Russia is it seems to be corrupt violent psychopaths all the way down. They could be such a great country if they had someone who could prioritise the population and interact with the world.
Agreed. However, I think that is true of most countries. Psychopaths tend to be very effective at getting into positions of power. It's just that the history and institutions of different countries determine amount of power they can wield.

It’s a possibility, mind you I’ve seen some of those videos of how they drive on the roads ….especially after 1/2 a bottle of vodka 😬……

If you shoot for the king, don't miss.

And certainly don't lower the gun after telling them you're going to shoot them.

Ukraine seem to have made some gains over the past few days and are around 30kms from Tokmak, which could be a key city to take. If not the key city.

Can do a lot when you’re motivated, I guess they only really needed to adapt the technology I can’t imagine driving a tank is to much different to driving b tank.
Still using them wrong I see:

All the German Leopards have been destroyed too as far as I can tell.
