I though that was two fairly average Championship team's playing against each other today. Watford are in complete transition, they didn't look bad but you could tell they were still trying to get use to a new style of play, hence the own goal and losing the ball in dangerous areas a few times. I think today highlighted for me that we are similar and this season will most likely be a bit of a transition for us rather than the joys of last season.
We are better off than 5 games in last season I think?

Watched the defender play the pass and assuming the keeper was gonna intercept it I looked at my phone. Causing me to only see the ball roll over the line.

I kept my eye in it cos just had a bad feeling about playing it out at that moment.

Still couldn't believe it mind you

Oggy had it spot on from what I heard, you need far better decision making when teams are pressing like that and to change it up. That should be coming from management

Go long now and then, get it down the channels, put them on the back foot so they can’t press in the same way.

A lot of young lads in there and a whole new defensive unit. This team will get better as they learn the system, each others strengths etc Already MVE looks like a different player from debut.
CCFCSteve, eh?

Hiya Oggy!

I think we'll defo be in Playoff mix but I want auto push

Think we're in 3rd gear still at mo

I do have concerns about our midfield. Despite certain players being scapegoats, I think they are all under par. This 'one man midfield' is absolutely bollocks. There's improvement there for all, and people seem to have their favourites. Eccles was poor today, but up until now he's been our best midfielder this season.

That being said, we haven't disgraced ourselves at all. We've seen Wright and MVE start to look the business, I suspect the whole team will go in that direction. We aren't losing really, just perhaps being a bit unable to kill teams off and making a few silly mistakes. I think we will get there.

String a couple of wins together and people will completely forget. Many positives too. Godden (despite missing a penalty) could be in for his highest goal season for us if this carries on. Competition has come in and he's stood up to it. I'm impressed by that.

Think we should all relax and enjoy the ride. Despite some holes I think we'll be more than alright.

I am serious. We are only 6pts off despite only winning 1 game so far.

We will need ayari to step up to cm role probably to make it happen though
You'd think after last season people wouldn't want to make predictions about where we'll be at the end. That said, I can't see it being play-offs this year-but lets just enjoy a team being built.

It's not a expectation. I just think we can do it.

I do expect a promotion push of some kind though. In terms.of that's what I think will happen. Of we were to finish 11th the big picture would still likely be a club doing alright and primed for the future.

I don't think anyone is panicking, just that I suspect that automatic promotion is likely out of reach this season, more because of the other team's in the division than anything else.

People were saying Southampton were one of the top automatics contenders, and that they have a great team, yet they lost 5-0 to Sunderland - a team we probably should have put away last week.

Absolutely topsy turvy game. Was in hospitality (Legends Lounge) for my birthday and it was brilliant.

Would obviously have loved a win but that game was something else. We were right behind the own goal which was funny enough but the highlight was my 64-year old mother flicking the v's to the Watford fans when we scored the last equaliser.

Watford are a good side and a draw is a respectable result. We were the better team in the first half and they were the better team in the second half.

We’re making progress, believe it or not.

After watching the highlights this morning, with more of a clear head than I had at the game yesterday I have to say I am disappointed about the goals that Watford scored. The first goal Tom Ince had so much time to run into the box and pick his pass despite us having about 7 defender back no-one took any responsibility. Latibeaudiere could have got tighter to the number 9 also, I thought this was a bit weak at the game also. Then their second the blonde 37 who to be fair looked a quality player was able to pick the ball up and ran half the length of the pitch and put it in the corner of the net despite having about 5 defenders around him and not one tried to make a tackle it almost reminded me of that Adrian goal in the West Ham testimonial and then the third goal we just pass it to them in the 18 yard box.

Just for info. Boro and Swansea are amongst the weakest teams in the league atm. Watford are very average.
A lot of tougher games to come.

Not sure what's happened at Middlesbrough, I thought they would be right up there this season. I thought Watford looked alright but a bit like a side that are in transition. You are right though we have much tougher tests to come although looking at Sunderland's result yesterday last week looks a good result now.

Boro's form had gone into decline last season before they lost their best players, I'm not surprised they're struggling at the moment

Agreed but ultimately I believe in Carrick and think he'll turn it around if given the time to do so

It’s a long season and there’s not much value in evaluating teams at this moment. 10 games in is a decent barometer.

Why people are panicking is beyond me. MR has been pretty open saying how it’s been a difficult window and wanted to get players in early to work with them. Generally, we start the season reasonably slowly and peak after January. It happened last year and the season we won L1.

It’s a new team who need to build that togetherness, learn how we play, and for a lot of our players - adapt to a new country and culture on and off the pitch.

We’ll be fine and hopefully we can add some players in Jan to drive us forward that bit more.

Looking at your phone caused you to see the ball roll over the line? How did your phone have the technology to do that?
