Piss all over T-Rex lets be honest and i like them

Oasis literally shaped a generation and still do today. I didnt see 5% of the population applying for tickets to see T-Rex? They could have done a month solid at Knebworth. People that try and slate Oasis in my view just try and do it to be different.

They still have a massive following and always will i feel. Is that the same for Blur? Is it Fuck.
Supergrass were better than Blur or Oasis.
Oasis had some decent early tunes, but basically re-wrote the same song as the years rolled by.
Blur are better songwriters and musicians, but it's hard to warm to them.

Fair enough point but my argument all along has been that our midfield-attack transition has been lacking, and although Godden is quick to react and has scored 3 goals so far for us, I think a different formation or different players would mean that we score more goals than we currently are. By having players that offer other abilities such as pace, height and strength it may be that we create more chances. Watford and Boro were both very leaky, other than that we’ve only scored 1 goal or less per game. I’m not saying it’s definitely the way to go but I think we should be at least open to the idea and give it a try for a game.
Watford had conceded 2 goals in 4 games prior to playing us

I think you may be the only person in the world with that view of Supergrass but fair play

I don't own trackies, jeans in the house if that's what I'm wearing. Pulp were better than all of them (although I loved Blur and Oasis when I was 15 in 1994). Finally, Godden deserves to keep his place and there will be ample opportunity for Simms to get game time and improve...

You're right of course and in response to the poster saying they were 'leaky', but they also hadn't scored in the previous 3, I think that was a freak game and a coaches nightmare!

I think it is logical to start with Godden and Wright up front, with Simms on the bench.

That said, I quite like the idea of bringing Wright on with 30 minutes to go and hitting their tiring defence with his pace and power.

Some Might Say MR's just gotta Roll With It and start Godden while he's on a streak, it's not going to Live Forever. Tends to Fade In-Out. Dunno what's up with Simms, either his head's Up In The Sky or he's been on the Cigarettes and Alcohol. I'm sure he'll come good Little By Little though. Wright to start next to Godden to Bring It On Down when we go long otherwise we're Going Nowhere. I Hope, I Think, I Know we can Keep The Dream Alive. D'You Know What I Mean?

Assuming not staying with the team then.

How do Friday night games work? Stay the night before then travel home straight after the game?
Can neither confirm nor deny :)

It depends really. Some teams travel on the day, arrive at lunchtime, have lunch, afternoon beds for rest, pre-match meal, final team meeting then leave a couple of hours before KO.

Some teams will go the night before, arrive at teatime, have dinner, overnight beds, breakfast, lunch, afternoon beds, pre-match meal, team meeting then leave a couple hours before KO.

All depends on budget. EPL teams will always likely do the latter option. Probably half of the Champs teams would do the latter, the other half the former and L1/L2 teams would almost always likely do the former or just the pre-match meal/meeting bit as they don't have massive budgets.

Wilson
Thomas Fadz* Kitching*
MvE Sheaf Eccles Dasilva*
Saka
Godden Wright

Collins, Bidwell, Lats*, Binks, Kelly, Ayari, Palmer*, Simms, Obikwu

Making a lot of assumptions around injuries/fitness, mainly that
*Fadz decides to play
*Lats and Palmer aren't able to start but may come on late if needed
*Dasilva is fit, if not Bidwell in
*Kitching is fit, if not Binks in

Maybe you could make that case, Oasis perhaps started a new wave of singer-songwriter type bands? I suppose that northern twang in their songs has influenced the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Maximo Park, The Pigeon Detectives, Kaiser Chiefs, Scouting For Girls etc, but for me personally (and obvs it’s just all personal taste) Blur have a wider influence, maybe influencing bands like Coldplay, Snow Patrol, The Killers, The Klaxons, Kings of Leon, The Editors, Elbow or early Radiohead to an extent. I think their music is much more wider-ranging and looks at everyday people’s lives in a way that Oasis never did. Not to mention the fact that Albarn went on to front Gorillaz, another highly influential band for a completely different generation.
Both Oasis and Blur have their merits but to me Blur is the far better band.
Scouting for Girls?!?! You just lost the Godden debate.

What, the idea that it’s possible to drop a 32 year old geezer that’s neither strong, quick or tall when there’s a £5 million signing sitting on the bench that is easily all of those things? You think Godden is THAT amazing that’s it’s a fucking stupid idea to drop him for one game? One single game?!
We’re not talking about Gyokeres here, Godden played second fiddle pretty much all of last season, he scores 2 easy goals (and one slightly harder one) and suddenly he’s our most undroppable and loved player.
I’m not saying Simms is definitively the answer to all our problems (I’d rather see Wright up top as a sole striker with 2 attacking mids in behind) but at least consider the idea that for some games, even for just a single game, the answer to all our attacking problems might not be Matty Godden.

Everyone’s obviously entitled to their opinion and I don’t like talking shit about anyone’s ideas because at the end of the day we’re all on the same side so there’s no real reason to argue amongst ourselves but I just wish people had more of an open mind to mixing up the team sheet a bit. Just because we take out a guy that’s scored 3 goals this season doesn’t mean we’re going to stop scoring goals, it is actually possible that goals can come from other formations and other players too.
Clearly MR doesn't agree with you. On that basis I'd give it up mate.

Yes but you could flip that and say we've only failed to score in 1 game. Against Watford the attack wasn't the issue, it was the defending and had that been up to scratch I'm sure people wouldn't be opposed to Godden and Wright starting together again.
Yeah fair enough, our defence was shoddy that game but I think in every other game this season our defence has been really solid, the 0-0 against Sunderland was a real tough battle and the fact they went and put 5 past Southampton shows how good our defence is.

I know its off topic but anyone who thinks Blur were better than Oasis need to be on the register
😂😂 Nah I just can’t buy that Oasis are better than Blur, obvs it’s all personal taste but I just find the songs cheesy these days and Gallagher’s voice is real annoying, some like that and fair enough but I can enjoy a whole album of Blur’s without skipping a song and just can’t say the same for Oasis.

Oasis has not aged well. Lyrics are almost all terrible and other than the odd track, everything after ...Morning Glory is sh*te.

This is from someone who used to rinse their b-sides, still watches There and Then once in a while and had an Oasis calendar.

Tavares will be nowhere near the squad

Unpopular opinion (another from me, I know, shock!) but I think Tavares is pretty decent, not the level of Wright, Simms or Godden but I think he’s pretty nimble and looks like he can score from a decent range as we saw in that Preston game. Obviously he’ll be on the bench nearly all season but don’t think we should right him off just yet, could be made into a midfielder maybe? (Just tossing the idea around, waiting for the inevitable Cov massive arse-kicking 😂)

Gotta agree there. Was a massive Oasis fan but then Be Here Now came a long then it carried on going down hill. Definitely Maybe and WTSMG are great albums, and they were more of a movement than a band. However, Blur were the much better band, better musicians and better songwriters in the end when you look at their whole career. Not Britpop but Radiohead were even better. Innovative and pushing boundaries.
