Godden up top is the stuff of nightmares. He was anonymous for most of the game tonight. When he did get the ball he either slowed the ball down or couldn't control the ball.

We need to go one up top but definitely not Godden.

Yeah exactly, no pace or real control, not that any of our strikers were on it today it seems but don’t think Godden has the pace for bursting through defences as a lone striker. I’ve no idea what we try going forward though, each one of our strikers seems to have some sort of weakness.

Kelly was brilliant tonight for me. MVE and Da Silva look great. We tired on 70-75 and Hull were pushing. They're a good team and that’s a cracking stadium. A good, entertaining game. Feels like a loss but that’s a good point.

Wright was woeful. Didnt look that bothered. Balls would go past him and there was no endeavour to get it or hassle.

I can only judge on what I've seen so far, and alarm bells have been ringing for a few games now.

Gyokeres took quite a few games to get off the mark, Mcnulty was the same, but both certainly showed signs of having qualities. Simms has offered absolutely fuck all, and Wright's not much better.

Simms wasn't a gamble, he has done it at this level already. Everyone else got a tune out of him. What was possibly a gamble is if we are not playing a system to suit him or thought we could shoe horn him into one then that's probably a misalignment between coaching staff and what the recruitment team have gone out looking for.

This was a new recruitment team thrown together quite quickly, did they know what they were looking for or just picking out players they've scouted for other teams they worked for with different styles? Who knows.

Its fair to challenge the fee, I'm with you, it's £3.5m and up to £8m I think with add ons? If we trigger those add ons (I think one being promotion) then it was probably worth the £8m we may end up paying.

I think as a club / fan base we are still getting used to talking about these sums of money too, it's new territory, but then I look around at transfers fees and these kind of numbers just seem like the norm now for average championship level players.

This Championship is tough. It’s worth looking at other fans forums. There are at least a dozen clubs who think they are top six contenders. Expectation management is always a factor for morale.
