Hope you eat those words

If Wright becomes a player it would be the greatest turnout in my city supporting career. The guy is Kevin Kyle/ Bakayoko level and he’s our all time record signing. I’m fucking fuming mate. Once in a lifetime chance to move the club forward and Robins and the recruitment team have acted like a fucking lottery winner pissing it up the wall at the first opportunity. Terrible window.

The lad needs a rocket up his arse. Sick of hearing about how 'talented' he is. His career will amount to nothing I've little doubt. History says he doesn't manage more than 15 games a season. Cannot recall when a game has been in the balance where he has created or scored a goal. His impact on the outcome of a game is non existent. Have always thought we can probably do better than Allen if the club is to progress, but would take Allen every day of the week ahead of Palmer. Nearly everyone of Allen's goals or assists last year broke the deadlock in a tight game. I don't even get out of my seat when Palmer is about to shoot. Tonight yet another example - guilt edge chance he should have scored.

The most basic requirement for a 26 year old professional footballer is to be fit enough to play 90 mins a week. This isn’t a 37 year old veteran here

I am annoyed we didn't replace Hamer but you aren't suggesting Doug is pocketing the money when we've spent £20m this summer, surely?

I doubt he'll be wanting Robins to spend money in January based on his signings this summer.
If you don’t trust your manager, you have to get rid of him

Have a look at the interview video thread. Basically lots of emphasis on their third goal and Tatsu messing up. No need to name and shame with such a poor team performance. A team Robins put together that was never going to deliver.

In Gyokeres and Hamer you had two £1m signings turned into elite players for this level over several seasons. I don’t really understand why we deviated from that just because there was an 8 figure sum in our account

Not even joking. If I were Doug I’d put a £2m limit on any future signings.
He spent around that on Sakamoto and doesn't even know how best to use him. Also on Thomas who he decided to drop after one bad game and now has no idea what the best defence is. Its all adding up tbf mate, he needs a rethink.

I’d imagine with Doug’s 5 year plans he doesn’t want development players he wants ready made players for this level.

unfortunately he’s been duped into thinking Haji Wright is a £7m player

at least MvE looks a player

And for all the Palmer slagging off, at least he’s the one man in the side who can make a pass without taking out a fucking full page ad in the telegraph telling everyone where it’s going. But yeah let’s get Jamie Allen in for a midfield of players who can pass five yard in front of them.

I said it at the time we signed him but I think the consensus was that the Turkish League was about on a par with The Championship, if not slightly better. Looks laughable now. Still hope he can come good-or better: he has attributes that we are not using very well and his head seems to have dropped. Lets hope MR can get him playing. We need to get the best out of him.
…as does MR, otherwise he’s going to have King asking some uncomfortable questions.

Within ten mins of the Wright rumours we had seen his highlights, read what fans think about him, seen his record, etc. There was nothing to indicate he was a player. The only reason to sign him is you think you see something no one else does. But that’s not a £7.7m signing. That’s a £1m gamble.

Whoever thought that is a pleb. There’s so many shit strikers that have come from the Turkish leagues, and thus shit strikers go to the Turkish League to become prolific!

Sadly you’re right. He’s 25 years old (which usually suggests you’re signing the near finished product), we can’t afford to right him off for a season or two - we may never get any money back on him. He’s on big money and we can’t write off £8M after 7 or 8 games.

That said, Wright looks shite and a massive waste of money. We could have had 4 youngerproven EFL strikers, not some myth from the Turkish League. At least Simms is 22 and has a couple of years to be improved and make the near finished article.

What the fuck were the recruitment team doing?!
Robins would have have sanctioned the signing as well, it’s not like he’s being held hostage.

Can’t help but feel rookie football club owner got taken to the cleaners on purchases. Different matter when selling and you know what you’ve got. But even then someone should be stepping in and saying you’re getting rinsed.

Development players who clearly have something but need polishing versus expensive players who won’t significantly improve.

Simms needs to come in for Wright now. And Kitching for Fadz. Allen will likely come in as well.
He will keep picking Palmer. he just has a complete favourites block.

Clubs knew we’d received big fees and inflated their prices. But it takes nous to know which ones are bluffing and which can be told to sod off.

We were after a player from abroad.

For one reason or another Robins abandoned that and went all in on Kitching. Not even the recruitment geezer or Doug, it was Robins call. Which is mind boggling from a man whos done so well for us
I'd imagine the reason he abandoned it was because the player wasn't available and suspect they will try again in Jan. Not signing another midfielder and signing Kitching are two different things. We've paid over the odds for Kitching as Barnsley were in a strong position (new contract and didn't need to sell) but Robins wanted him all summer. He will be a good signing I think. When the midfield target wasn't a goer we should have looked for a loan I feel. Losing Sheaf is a disaster.

Am I the only one that goals aside thinks Simms looks the best of the three football talent wise. It’s a low bar mind.

Said same thing he was the only player to get any sort of blame probably because he's the easiest target a bit like when he had ago about Yari.Time for Robins to make some changes to this team.

They’re not though. Time is finite. Robins, King, et al only have so many hours in the day. Kitching should never have been a priority. We should have seen the prices we were being quoted and gone to the loan market.

We do know though that O’Brien went to the club prepared to pay the more of his wages. So in going full Kitching we then couldn’t compete on those wages.

How far are we from ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’?
Losing to Huddersfield and bringing a defender on in the last 10 mins might test it.

Bad day at the office, even the Sky Blue Army were off it.
Lackluster from start to finish.
Difficult watch and not many positives.
Shout out to Palmer who was atrocious, comfortably our worst performer by a mile.
When is he going to deliver.
Hadji Wright looks absolutely miles of it atm.
Wish I'd stayed at home.

I find it staggering he'd name Sakamoto after what I've just watched. Poor bloke must be wondering why he came here.

The fans will be a good few games away still but not sure King will be, he isn’t going to be as sentimental and will expect results.

The second tier of English football is a step up from the Turkish pub league. Imagine my shock.

If B-Tec Baka starts with Palmer on Monday, then I may not bother turning up.

He sees Palmer play crap and get rewarded with a start, then is asked to play out of position with defensive responsibilities he isn’t used to dealing with. Also sees Thomas get dropped after one bad game while McF who has been poor for several is also getting selected.

This sort of thing undermines the manager’s credibility with new players.

People keep banging on about the midfield but whatever we got fucked over. It happens. Understandable.

We approached Haji Wright before the playoff final, Simms was one of our first signings, and we have a gaping hole up front. At least in midfield we can hope something is to come. What we’ve done up front is fucking criminal.
Can you honestly see him coming good?
