Wasn't that what happened in Crimea.
Do that and give Russia land give it a couple of years for Putin to stock back up and it all starts again, as it basically says if you invade another country you end up with more territory out of it. It'd be like giving a kid trying to steal a tray of cakes one of the cakes as a way to tell them off.
Correct. There is no negotiation with Putin. Any attempt to negotiate will be seen as a sign of weakness.
Putin has moved his priority from an illegal war of genocide against Ukraine to a priority of exhausting the West.
At the same time, he hopes that the criminal regime in Peking will openly support him. Wow, it’s like cutting and pasting text from 1984.
Russia would be more than happy with a frozen conflict in Ukraine; this would stop Ukraine from joining NATO and the EU. A victory in Ukraine and/or a splintering of the West would give Putin a chance to threaten the Baltic States etc etc.
Russia but more importantly, China are significant threats to us. Sadly, lots of people still can’t see it.
Nevertheless, Ukraine faces a long, difficult struggle against the fascist forces of Putin. We shouldnt forget that Russia was allied to the Nazis in 1941. Russia does not have a history of democracy or even a democratic struggle. It has no history of a mass movement against tyranny. All Russia and Russians understand is government by a tiny minority and they are happy to acquiesce to that.
