I know I try and keep out of stuff for the most part these days. Life's too short.

Trying to make the most of every day I have on this planet.

5 years ago, I would have been all over this thread.

Sometimes I think stuff can be misguided. But I am getting too tired to argue and I am sure many feel the same.

As has been said by just about every single poster on here. The attacks the other day were barbaric and horrific and truly awful.

We just can't pretend that Israel is the good guy here.

And Hamas isn't Palestine and Palestine isn't Hamas.

I always loved the Irish people, but couldn't stand the IRA and hated them with an absolute passion.

I don't know enough about Zionism to comment to be honest and I am sure for the last 3 or 4 days, people on here have been Googling like mad to try and learn more, whilst trying to appear to be experts.

I just find the whole situation awful and a total shit show without end. This is an awful escalation, but this conflict and impasse has being going over there now for decade after decade.

Its now been stated that Egypt warned Israel 3 days prior to the attack.
Bearing in mind the political instability in Israel in the months prior they surely wouldnt have allowed the attack to unify the public would they?

I don't think it's anti Jewish stuff though is it. It's anti Israeli government stuff. The stance of successive Israeli governments.

Think it's only Tea and Busquets that has talked about Zionism. I don't believe for a single second that he is anti Jew though.

I too am in the camp that all organised religion is utterly ridiculous and fantastical.

Hamas are known as terrorists. That doesn't make Palestinians terrorists and I think the Israeli government are a truly awful regime, but that doesn't make all Jews bad.

I think it's a very tricky subject and there's no straightforward answer. It's not like saying "I'm a Conservative supporter" or "I'm a Labour supporter" is it

This is a very, complicated and volatile situation over there. As si many have said, there is no real answer is there.

So easy to have a standpoint on other political stuff, i.e. "I'm a socialist", "I'm a capitalist" etc.

I hate to see indiscriminate killing. It's happening now on both sides. Hasn't it already been said, half the population of the Gaza strip are children?

I actually find Twitter quite good but it's been as big a cesspit as I've seen it since the Hamas attacks.
I want to keep abrest of what's going on but some of it is such partisan propaganda it's hard to disseminate the truth.
