I agree in someways, but that land has been at the centre of struggle for thousands of years by many religions

I think the Palestinians would say that this is about their simple right to exist. Israel would say the same of course, but the power imbalance here is obvious.

Think Tom White did a better job than the council if I'm being honest but I don't want @Evo1883 hunting me down

Funny that because it was the same loaders .. nothing was different apart from more work getting left out than before

Hence the massive drop off points

So what did you find better mate out of curiosity

Also is it back to being worse now ?

Hahaha na, tbf I'm only being half serious, would never knock you for doing your job

Just annoying when collections are missed. Happens 3 or 4 times a year minimum by me, didn't happen once under Tommy White, so I suppose that's the metric I've gone off

From the Guardian: Puts the lie to the IDF claim that they wouldn't target hospitals.

The direct quotes are from Hosam Naoum, Anglican bishop of Jerusalem. The hospital is run by the Anglicans...

“At that point in time [of the blast], we know there were thousands of people there,” he said. “They received a warning, there were some bombing and air strikes around the hospital and they fled in [to the hospital compound].”

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday the Israeli authorities contacted hospital staff, mostly by phone, telling them to leave.

“They have the phone numbers of all the directors of the hospitals. So they can either send message or whatever means they have to notify them,” he said.

“We received the two missiles that hit the hospital. We could see and tell that they are from an Israeli strike at the hospital. And then we received the warnings,” he said.

Staff told refugees who crowded into its courtyard about those warnings, but they apparently judged the hospital safer than other options in a city under attack. In the afternoon before hundreds were killed and maimed, they had been singing peace songs to keep up their spirits, Naoum said.

Hospital administrators had warned them about the evacuation notices. “We had a moral obligation,” Naoum said. “We told them it is important you know what is taking place, but they have nowhere to go.”

A crowd of around 5,000 people almost all left after the first warning. But many returned when airstrikes pummelled the neighbourhood, hoping the hospital compound might be a relative haven amid Israel’s blanket evacuation order, that effectively turned all of Gaza city into a potential target.

It’s closer now than it ever has been, IMO. I also think within our lifetimes we’ll start to see the balance of power shift away from the west.

Not any time soon , the USA spend more on its military than the next 20 or so nations combined ..

If I had paid for a JDAM and this was all it did I would want my money back. Better spending it on Bangers.

So why did israel lie last night and put up a video from 2022?
And funny you mentioned a JDAM because I don't think it's been mentioned on here.

Interesting that Sunak hasn’t followed the US and is urging MP’s to be cautious what they say while the UK does its own investigation. No sign of the government echoing the UN’s calls for a complete ceasefire for humanitarian aid to come in. James Cleverly just brushed off Caroline Lucas in the commons for suggesting that we support the UN in this. Disappointing.

The actual truth would just be enough ..
There was an editor of a specialist defence magazine being interviewed on 5live this afternoon and he said the truth is out the window, neither side is interested, they just want to push their narrative and their message.
