Barely anybody picked houchen up on his comments btw .. if kieran said something similar about other things , he'd be hounded and called thick ..fact
Laughable. I'm just used to Houchen being outspoken.

Grendel is often outspoken and I am simply used to him now, so often don't comment at all, even if I profoundly disagree with him.

There’s more here who want Russia to prevail in Ukraine than who apparently want Hamas to take Israel
Oh fuck me I don't give a shiny shit about Ukraine , America do though .. might say alot

Problem is I also couldn't give a shit about Russia either

Why is it important to you?
I readily admit I’m really angry at Israel constantly and have been for many years. Have many friends who’ve worked in charities in Palestine and on the borders with Israel
I readily admit a part of me is on the side of the oppressed (always) and when the oppressed hurts the oppressor it’s hard not to say ‘good on you’.
What Hamas did was not self defence or tactical action and the one thing I think all agree on was that it would lead to worse bombing and worse conditions and a worse future for the very people they were supposedly representing

so you can put me on the side of the oppressed not Hamas but the oppressed

I ignored him as I understand where he’s coming from as I’ve said just above
Israel have turned into the oppressor and houchen said he’s on the side of the oppressed

For the record as someone from a family who has several family members who’s been the victim of IRA terrorism including attempted loss of life I will never back a terrorist organisation. Doesn’t mean I don’t have sympathy for catholics though who have been a victim of discrimination from the Protestant community my family is from, it doesn’t mean I’m in denial about the reason the Provo’s came into existence with the rebirth of the IRA and how a feeling of hopelessness amongst a community was the key driver of recruitment for the Provisional IRA.

Ironically it was my trip to Israel as a neutral and as a young man that opened my mind up to considering the other side the argument. Not something I was raised to do. I don’t think in either the case of Northern Ireland catholics (and Protestants for that matter) or Palestinians it justifies acts of terrorism. And as Northern Ireland proves its politics that ultimately works not violence.

I hope that clarifies my position.

Wow , that's harsh on houchen
You know full well what I mean! Not sure Houchen winds PVA up quite as much for a start...

Well I won't say , will just deny it anyway
So what can they do to make you change your mind that they don't support Hamas, if saying 'I do not support Hamas' is not enough, and someone else saying they do is proof that they do as well?!?

Kieran is a much newer poster than Houchen. I have known Houchen on here for many, many, many years .

Kieran I have not been so sure about. He seemed to post some interesting stuff on the Ukraine thread.

Houch loves to be outspoken

Look we all live in the real world , if I go to work tomorrow and 1 bloke says to me " yea this country is overran with foreigners blah blah " am I to believe he's the only one that thinks that at work , can me not proving it unless somebody says it to me not make my statement any more true ??

In the real world there are people on here that would rather see hamas prevail over israel .. they hate Israel that much .. that statement in my opinion is true

At the moment only 1 person has come out and said they support hamas over israel

215 people have viewed this thread from a potential 7000

Went to Belfast in the summer and got to spend a few hours separately with a former IRA member and then a former RUC man. While both still want very different futures for NI they also both said how much better life is without living in a place where bombings and shootings are the norm. The former’s kids have been to Orange marches and the latter’s played GAA.

Really eye opening

No, and put like that I'd agree with you.

The way you phrased it initially however, whether intentional or not, was basically saying a load of active posters who weren't just saying Go Israel were in fact tacit Hamas supporters by that lack of black and white thinking!

(Even if they say they're not!)

So, would it be fair to say that wasn't your intention, you never meant that to be implied, and then we therefore move on...?

Well it will never happen, there is genuinely more chance of City winning the Champions League.

Two state solution is the only way out of this.

I already addressed it earlier in the thread

I don't think everybody quite literally supports hamas

It's this kind of thing that comes across as ridiculously poor form.
Like I said , I addressed this exact statement earlier in the thread .. it's like when somebody says you're all being nasty to me when its 2 people .. just a blanket word incorrectly used

Already addressed

Was that your big win wisdom?

Grab a word I used and try and look like you've got one on me ?
We can keep going no issue 🤷‍♂️ there are people on here who would rather see hamas beat Israel, now proven by atleast 1 person with organs that breaths .. your turn

I'm easy

It's not a 'win', it's the fact that your language, as I said, ends up a bit snide and implying (in fact, saying!) that we *all* support Hamas, and no amount of saying we don't, no amount of condemning them will change your mind because we're making it up!

That, is pretty pathetic tbh.

And yes, I do want it clear I don't and yes, I would carry on until I got confirmation. Because it wasn't just that post that did it, it was repeated innuendo and crass generalisations.

What we basically ascertain however is that Houchen saying he supports Hamas means Clint does (he can speak for himself on that!), and it's not everybody after all!

And it's still pathetic. I gave you an out and you seem to be doubling down and thinking this is an argument for internet points, when it's actually an argument about aspersions you've implicitly cast on *my* beliefs, that I wanted cleared up because... it's a nonsense. A totally illogical, mental nonsense that just lives itself out in lazy language... which is actually the best I could hope for because mostly you seem a decent chap tbh.

I'm not going through each forum member like a good boy .. I doubt otis does either
So do you think I do?

I find your posts ridiculously offensive.

You seem to be saying that anyone who takes a balanced view and doesn't just see Israel as the goodies and Muslims as baddies is a terrorist sympathizer.

You're making things up .. I'm saying there are people on this forum who would happily see hamas beat Israel .. if you're offended by that , then that's a you issue

We already have 1 person who says they back hamas
