Rishi Sunak's answer to the byelections, is to give tax break to the 5% top earners.

I mean it's a great idea, why wouldn't a tax cut for top earners solved the issue of the public thinking the tories don't care about normal people and the cost of living

Anyone watch the doc about the housing crisis on BBC recently? Nothing earth shattering on there but was some interesting insights from people involved in policy decisions and implementation.

One of the factors sited as contributing to spiralling house prices was cuts to stamp duty.

Higher house prices are Tory policy. They think it helps them electorally and for certain people it’s probably still true.

They just can't help themselves, can they.

Surely Labour won't see this as a trap, on this they've got to differ haven't they?

Michael Sheen's Valleys Rebellion on iplayer is a decent watch. Gives an insight into why so many people are politically disengaged, obviously it's about Wales but I'm sure the same reasons for disengagement apply everywhere.

It's too long term thinking for given, but aiming to freeze prices is surely the way. Stops people going into negative equity or 'losing' cash, and inflation will take over to mean houses come down in real terms

I mean thanks and all Rishi, but I’d rather have a working country.

Fairly certain that right already exists. I get notified of the PSHE curriculum at both my girls schools.
Think you are right. Most schools publish their curriculum online which would include PSHE anyway.
Permission has to be sought for any kind of RSE content as there is always an opt out available. Failure to do so would attract a very quick visit from HMI.

Just more culture war bollocks in an attempt to distract from the fact buildings are crumbling and most kids now have a diet that includes seeing a supply teacher at least once a day.

My eldest has so many supply and non specialists teaching her right now. Fine though cos she’s only Year 9, I’m sure it’ll all be fine once the GCSEs start 😬

Breaking news on Rishi understands what ordinary working people are going through

Making the tough decisions. Which basically means he doesn’t care what the optics look like, he’s looking after his mates regardless.

Labour could make hay with this, but the first thing that I spot today is the watering down of another popular policy, right to roam (basically because it upsets some rural landowners).

Is there any policy commitment that Starmer won't cast aside to keep the Daily Mail happy?

Wealthy landowners are such a tiny proportion of the electorate, it's difficult to understand

Weren't the last years of the 79-97 just a sleaze fest. It feels a bit like towards the end of their tenure suddenly things start to be noticed.

Hmmm “noticed”. Not at all because client journos see the writing on the wall I’m sure.
