DaSilva - Free - alright
Latibeaudiere- free- decent
Binks - Loan - decent

Ayari - Loan - Shit
Simms - 3.5m - Double shit
Wright - 7.7m - Triple shit
Van Ewjik- 4m - player there, think he'll be good
Tats - 1.2m - good player but MR dont rate him
Collins - 500k - who knows?
Thomas - 2m - wank
Kitching -4m - pointless

So in summary we've spunked loads of money on shit players

Overreacting just a tad.

What evidence is there of MvE having an attitude problem? The things I read on here!!

I am not sure Wright is a dud. It might not work out but I think there is a player in there, but clearly I am in a minority.
The fact that MR has publicly stated that he doesn’t follow instructions?

This would indicate a possible ‘attitude’ issue, hence the words I used: ‘maybe’ and ‘questionable’.

When he fails to go past his man, Robins isn't accusing him of disobeying instructions. Milan is clearly finding it hard to have the confidence to do what the manager would like him to do. I really don't get 'attitude problem' from that.

II can’t seem to find the article I read on here (via Sky Blues Extra) and I’m sure it stated that MR said that MVE wasn’t following instructions. 🤷‍♂️

Again, the ‘attitude’ remark was a supposition. MR is usually very protective over his players, I just found it odd that he’d publicly state that a player wasn’t following instructions.

I’ll try and find the article, and if I’m wrong, I’ll hold my hands up.

Doesn't scream attitude problem at all.
Sounds like someone lacking confidence & familiarity with what's being asked of him as you'd expect with new signings.

One problem he has is that when he gets on the ball it's a force field of our players running away from him, we so desperately miss Allen or O'Hare offering that short option for a ball inside or a give and go.

After hearing Robins at the forum earlier in the week I am surprised he’s getting so much game time. I know we’re short but he spoke so well about how he managed Vik in his early days, making sure he knew he had to prove himself in the 21’s before even getting a shot in the first half, yet he’s doing exactly the opposite with Ayari 🤷🏼‍♂️

Then again in the next breath he said he wasn’t going to rush OHare back and he needed U21 game time first, then boom, he’s there tonight 😂

All our RWBs last season had support from Hamer going up the pitch and an AM pulling wide. Fuck knows where they all go because it’s not into positions to receive the ball.

It's also what we can all see, surely!

Wilson
Van Ewijk, Lati, Kitching, DaSilva
Sheaf, Eccles
O'Hare (or Allen)
Sakamoto, Simms, Wright

That is the formation that gets the best from our new signings imo. I'm available to start immediately.

Thing is, we moan about Simms and Wright's goal output, you're playing someone offensively who's scored zero goals since leaving Japan!

Think him and MVE could cause havoc down the right hand side if given the chance.

I must have dreamt the part about ‘not following instructions’, then.

Hands are up; I take it back.

Collins also if he can’t dislodge Wilson (who fwiw has been decent this year) we may as well have saved the money and kept Moore on the bench

Completely agree. Another one of these ‘ex Chelsea youth players’

I’m gunna throw it out there as probably an unpopular opinion but… I haven’t been overly impressed with any of these ex Chelsea youth players, they’ve all been naff.
Palmer, JDS, Westbrooke, Wakefield, Collins… Panzo was ‘ok’

The ones that have come in on loan or permanent that were current Chelsea players at the time, that’s a different story, they’ve been decent
Sterling, Dabo, JCS & Maatsen

Would happily drive most of the shit we’ve signed back to their former clubs, with the only exceptions perhaps being Sakamoto and Latibeaudiere who haven’t done much wrong and Binks. The rest of them can all fuck off.
Think MVE and JDS also have potential, but agree that the signings have underwhelmed for the most part.

To be fair I understood every transfer apart from the wright one, can see why we signed Thomas Kitching etc suit our model and type of addition, Milan and JDS too, just didn’t get the wright signing

Ayari for me is one of the worst loans we have ever had. Out of his depth completely and most of the time looks lost. He needs to go back in January, Brighton paid 6 million for him. Never going to be worth that.
Yet we dropped Sakamoto for him who had a half decent game last game.

Whilst he’s not perfect I think it’s clear that whichever position Sakamoto gets asked to play in he’s probably one of the best players on the pitch for us. I think Robins needs to trust him more and look at things objectively rather than relying on supposed favourites every week.

If the rumours are true we’re going back to the box with Wright up top and Saka and Allen in behind then I think that’s a big step forward in terms of confident, positive decisions from Robins. It’s all been too defensive and predictable so far, to me it seems impossible to work out your best team if you don’t experiment a bit. Whatever the result tonight I’m just glad Robins is experimenting more, hopefully we can build on that, it’s not like it can be any worse than the Rotherham game, to lose 2-0 to Rotherham considering they just lost 2-0 to Sheffield Wednesday is pretty appalling tbf.

Yeah, there's usually 1 in the box surrounded by 5 players as well.

Its three things: we can’t cross, our forwards never attack the near post, and as you say they’re usually outnumbered at least 3 to 1.

I agree. Watched sakamoto twist and turn the wba left back last week more than once only for the cross to be so weak on his non favourite right foot that it was cleared before it got to the front post. What irritated me was wright was just standing flat footed and never made the sprint to the front post anyway.

If you look at each signing individually only 1/2 of them looks like potentially bad signings (Collins as he can't get a game and Ayari who isn't ready).

They are all either finding their feet at this level and/or in a new country apart from Lati/JDS who many agree our the best signings. Same thing happened with Hyam & Rose after we got promoted and they are now established championship CBs.

You don't look at any of the signings and think they're going to be plying their trade in League One for the rest of their careers like quite a few of our players have over the last 3 years.

The only area where our recruitment has been shocking has been not signing a CM that could provide more control and creativity in the middle. We looked good in the first 10 games but due to a lack of a final ball and silly defensive errors we're now completely shot of confidence.

Think both Wright & Simms are worth £1million each max based on performances so far - it’s the fact we paid so much money for them both that pisses me off - think the selling clubs have both had our pants down!
