Norwich are much better than us, hence why they finished so far ahead of us.
West Brom have been more solid, Norwich were not 'much better' than us. If Kitching hadn't been sent off, i think we'd have got something at their place, and the points total between us was exaggerated by the effects of our cup run at the end of the season. I'll be surprised if they finish above us next season.

And they still have another year of parachute payments (albeit reduced)
I think they have now finished parachute payments. Relegated teams get something like 50% 1st season, 20% season 2 and an additional 20 in season 3 if they were in the PL for more than either 1 or two consecutive seasons. They were only there for 1 season I think? Could be wrong but the payment I looked up when talking to a fester fan at the start of the season.
If a team gets promoted they do not get the payment for that season apparently.

Ah yes, quite right. I forgot they got relegated straight back down after just 1 season.

I believe that’s bang on, so no more money for Norwich via parachute payments.

Would Norwich be one of the few teams that might interest MR?

Their fans are, well some of them, but one comment I’ve seen on the BBC replying to someone saying they go through manager’s quickly was. “Only 3 in 7 years“ like that is an achievement. MR would be daft to go there unless they are willing to pay very big money.

they are becoming Watford mkII

We need to be looking at someone for the left side with equal defensive ability / age / resale value to MVE (who is apparently Conference level according to a previous poster who’s name eludes me…).

It’s a tricky one because I kind of agree, but realistically we’d need to spend £3-4m at least and McCallum’s available on a free.
100% this - for me, all Sam McC needs to sort out are his defensive positioning at times (having watched Ipswich v Norwich) but he still has youth on his side. i wouldn't be paying big money for that position if we could recruit him.

Amount of passes, amount of passes in the final third, % of passes in the final third. Unnecessary information, does anybody care?

Even as a bit of a stats geek, not in the slightest. It’s like broadcasters are about 10 years behind the curve on what data is meaningful.

Think this Soton vs WBA match is heading to pens.

5 out 11 of Soton staring XI plus Adams and Stuart Armstrong contracts up this summer. Think Southampton are at this level to stay.

I feel for Leeds like I did for us before our P/O final vs Exeter, it’s in the bag.

In fairness, 4 of them are only on loan. But even so, I wonder how much in wages they’re paying out on Harwood-Bellis, Downes, Brooks, Fraser and Rothwell. Must be looking at £200k+ p/w there.

Might as well just give Leeds the playoff trophy now, it’s obviously theirs.
