Quality was a stretch - he was a very good championship player in his day but they'd long gone with usTrue, but I don't think they cost much, so as such probably worth a punt, and the best we could get for our budget back then.
Waghorn was a quality player, who looked to of lost his pace.
Clarke Harris had all the attributes and tbf has had a fantastic scoring record since leaving. Rumour has it his attitude may have been questionable at times.
Walker had scored goals elsewhere, but was just lazy imo, and Mcguire was a decent player, just never a goalscorer.
Interestingly these "failures" occurred under our stats driven recruitment policy!!!! (#shmmeee) just saying
He is on record stating he never wanted to leave Derby anyway and had they not have been in complete meltdown financially we would have never signed him
