The US is not doing anywhere near what it could do to back either side, Israel, as it should, Ukraine, they should be doing all they could but the Right are stopping them
Looking back, it could be misconstrued. I want it perfectly known, Israel is being a complete and utter arse, I do not support Israel in anyway shape or form. Fuck them

Massive change to the tax system in Russia to fund the 3 day special military operation 3+ year war:

Russia weighs biggest tax shake-up in almost 25 years as Putin scrambles to finance Ukraine war

A higher rate of 15% was established in 2021 for those earning more than five million roubles (around £43,500).

Now the finance ministry wants to lower the threshold for the 15% rate, so it applies to annual incomes from 2.4 (around £20,800) to five million roubles, and introduce more bands above.

Incomes between five and 20 million roubles (around £43,500 to £174,000) will be taxed at 18%, those between 20-50 million roubles (around £174,000 to £434,000) at 20%, and anything over 50 million roubles at 22%.

Under the proposals, corporation tax will also increase from 20% to 25%.

Oof.

"US are backing these wars", pretty much the only reaction I've got, apparently they're sponsoring a genocide, that doesn't exist, but it's as good as we're going to get, people, apparently

Agreed, I'd also like for Russia to stop being "massive cunts" too...

And this really is why the Israel funding will continue. As I understand tying the Ukraine funding and Israel funding together is the only way he can get it passed.

Name a genocide the US has been in favour of

They created genocide in Vietnam. In one incident alone a whole village was destroyed and all inhabitants killed and raped by US troops.

Your stance would have been let them crack on going by your views on Russias invasion of Ukraine. Russia is guilty of the same war crimes in Ukraine.

Well with respect surely its those people who support US action and look in horror at Russian atrocities need to look in the mirror.

Pretty sure the USA’s involvement in Vietnam was widely condemned both in the US and abroad. It finished before I was born but I don’t doubt for a minute that I would have condemned the USA much as I have Russia in the same circumstances in Ukraine. In stark contrast to your juxtaposition.

Well as said before - and someone gloated about it - this war is a way the US can take on the east and let other people die. Russia behaviour is a picnic compared to the US in Vietnam. It never changes either as witnessed with illegal torture in Iraq.

The difference is that the US acknowledged what happened, investigated it and people were charged (admittedly not many were convicted).

Russia on the other hand won't acknowledge that anything has happened and certainly won't be charging anyone for doing it.

Also, saying Russian behaviour is a picnic compared to the US is a ridiculous statement. There were children raped in Bucha, people lined up and executed, people tortured, people mutilated. They also continue to target and kill civilians and have stolen thousands of children.

Whether you mean to or not, your constant focus on the US comes across as trying to downplay Russia's role in this. They are fully responsible and have the power to end this today if they want.

You could probably do with reading some of the reports on Russias behaviour in Ukraine before making that sweeping statement. Try reading some of the human rights watch reports or articles by reporters without borders, not just towards Ukrainians but also their own conscripts. Then there’s the stealing of Ukrainian children and packing them of to Russia. Human rights watch have confirmed rape of children as young as 4, elderly women and even captured male soldiers. They also use rape as a punishment against their own conscripts who refuse to fight or who go awol from the front line only to be caught. There isn’t yet a definitive numbers of villages, towns and areas of cities wiped off the map by Russia but they’re mounting. Russia is also known to use torture including mock executions against captured Ukrainian soldiers and civilians.

But you’re happy for them to “crack on with it”. No mirrors in your house?

You’d be better off pointing that question in the direction of Grendull. He’s the only one saying that there is a difference. Russia is in Ukraine for a picnic according to him against the wait of evidence.

Well exactly. It's not any different, that's the point.

So you think the US are a despotic brutal regime?

I think any country that indulged in this is as evil as any regime but as they adopt Western values we look the other way

So the US you finally admit are as evil as all other super powers and do not in reality give a fuck about Ukraine.

Wow we get there at last.

Why? The OP was making a clear comparison between the behaviour of US an Russian soldiers. Again, only one poster thinks one group is at a picnic. If you want to point that out to anyone it’s them. Your direction is misdirection.

Your link is interesting though as a comparison, at least to events in Iraq and Afghanistan for that matter. Firstly these were isolated incidents, secondly they didn’t go unpunished. Compare that to the behaviour of Russian soldiers where firstly it’s clearly not isolated incidents and secondly they will go unpunished.
