Completely agree with the first half, not sure if O’Hare needs to earn his place but I definitely think we need to roll the dice when it comes to transfers. We rolled it on our European signings last year and it paid off massively, can’t see a reason why we shouldn’t do it again. Keep O’Hare and add depth and more starting quality.
If we recruit properly we will get upgrades on the players we have hence why players will need to earn their place, including COH. There is no point in doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

We rolled the dice under Ron Atkinson and spent over 20 years in the wilderness. We can't confine our transfer dealings to expensive foreign players on four year contracts.

Yet we bought Haji, Saka, Milan and Torp and they’ve been brilliant. To me it makes absolutely no sense to regress back to the old days of getting cast-offs from other championship teams on a free.

Nearly all of our championship or league 1 signings have been suspect at times, compared to our European signings from last season it’s night and day.

Torp has hardly been brilliant, yes hes looked promising but saying brilliant is just pure hyperbole.
Alright Torp hasn’t been amazing but he hasn’t started many games, the other European signings have been brilliant for us. MVE has probably doubled in value and has genuine threat/pace. It’s mad to think people don’t want more of that tbh.

Hadn't torp just finished an entire season before coming to us?

He looked absolutely shagged in the latter games of the season.

yeah believe so

very interesting username too 😳

First post he has made since 2011. Or just logged into an old alt account by mistake possibly. @PVA could be the prime suspect.

Genuinely just don't post.

I lurked back on GMK in the 00s.

One of the best shop names I ever saw was in your neck of the woods, AberWristWatch. Still there?

What? You're the one that loves ableist slurs so it's more likely to be you let's be honest.

It was the reference to CCFC that made me conclude it was unlikely to be you in truth

All three clubs are almost certainly interested. Add Leicester also. Possibly also Villa.

Thats the advantage of being out of contract. COH can pick and choose.

But they may not be the clubs COH hoped would be interested

I’d jump at the chance to play for Villa if I was him. Not far from home, doesn’t really have to relocate, potentially playing champions league football. The only downside is that they’re probably interested in someone a lot better than him 😂

Agree. COH will demand first team football

Yeah I'm not sure why Villa would be interested when they've got Ramsey, Rogers and others for that position.

Mostly because it’s a low risk, relatively cheap transfer but the Villa links were reported weeks ago with nothing since

Its agent talk. Clearly his foreign deal wasn’t all it was cracked up to be so he asked his agent to pump him around, nothing doing so now he’s considering our deal again.

None of it adds up to a PL club being interested, let alone a top half one, or he’d be gone already.

Yeah there’s no chance he goes there. Nowhere near the level they’re shopping at. Plus they’re buying Barkley who has much more pedigree for the same position.
