great player, and a real gentleman.
one of the guys responsible for the popularity of the game today.
Remember seeing him in an exhibition evening at a snooker club in Cov, I guess mid 70's. A real entertainer .

The name you are after is Roberta Taylor wouldn't know her from Eastenders don't watch it but she acted in The Bill mostly on the front desk in the station. Died from a fall.
While im on John Mayall the first and probably the best British blues artist died aged 90 .RIP John

I've been a fan of John Mayall since the very early 70's with his backing group, The Bluesbreakers.
Sad news, but a great age to reach. I wouldn't have though he was 90.
RIP John.

John Anderson - Gladiators referee

Was just reading he coached Moorcroft when he broke the world record and lived in Nuneaton for a while before, rather predictably, moving to Corby.

Me and a few mates wet to watch Gladiators being filmed when we were about 16 at the NIA or NEC. Someone had a big sign which read ‘Wolf’s got crabs’ which funnily enough didn’t make the TV cut.

Gladiatorrrrrrs ready!
