I've just got hold of the planning docs for the opening ceremony.
Organiser;
Right, we'll pile everyone on some boats.
I've found a load of people from the streets and told them to do loads of random shit when the boats go past.
No rehearsal needed (fact that none of this was rehearsed!)
Et voilà!

If you’re on the wrong bank you’re just looking at a load of Thames clippers sailing by with the backs of athletes all that’s visible. Just pleased that the refugee small boat didn’t sink - would have made this disaster even more of a debacle. Initially thought I was watching a pride carnival in Brighton or Eurovision. Did they not learn anything from our dismal river pageant in London?

Can't remember the last time I watched any Olympics. Two weeks of stupid "sports" that half the world ain't interested in! When they introduced synchronised drowning as a "sport", that was it for me! What next? Tiddlywinks? Beer drinking? Dwarf tossing? Jeez!!!

Indeed it was and that’s about my speed now - at uni it was a bit quicker. It’s never a good idea HH, the hangovers I get now compared to uni are really bad!

Just watched the womens 100m freestyle relay - Good show from GB but outside the medals.
Something didn't seem quite right tho and then the penny dropped - Can't remember the last time I saw so many women in one place with exposed arms (and legs) and not a single tattoo.

Having not really bothered with the Olympics for quite some time I’m gonna make a concerted effort to watch them this time.
I surprised myself by really enjoying the Rugby 7s. I’m not a Rugby fan at all but it was great. Not least because it’s over really quickly!
