We aren't . Look at tonight's stats , they had 2 attempts literally. Both goals were just mistakes which we can eradicate as we gain more confidence. Nothing I saw tonight suggested any team will hammer us , on the contrary I saw a side who will hammer opposition teams
We are going to concede more against the better sides imo. Hopefully when Sheaf returns the midfield is less open . A better side than Oxford would have run through Torp at will tonight. We're 2 additions away from being a complete side in this division but they are in key positions

I think we are going to see some high scoring games this season that is for sure

Torp still looks like he thinks he has all the time in the world on the ball. Off the ball he has nothing.
It was Torp losing the ball and then running back like he was in treacle that lead to their second. He did play some expansive passes but he is unspectacular and we miss Sheaf.

MvE was a different class tonight, he's going PL next summer....... and it's going to be with us!!

I'm loving Rudoni, he is always making space, seems to always want the ball but doesn't just expect others to find him. A genius signing.

Wright does what he does, scores goals. He tracks back too, there is no argument who starts on the left.

It would have been a robbery if we hadn't won but massive 3 points considering how it played out.

Buzzing, not perfect, sloppy defending but signs of what we can do. PUSB!!

Seems like they’ve decided to enforce the ā€˜proper amount of injury time’ thing from the start of last season again. Can’t wait for April when they’ve abandoned it and we’re drawing a crucial game with only 3 mins added on.

Just a few pointers. Still not quite on it consistently, and our midfield lacks something or we are not quite coping with our 3 against 4
Oxford were gifted two goals and had to play a counter attacking game but they did that at speed which caught us out a few times. They defended well and their GK was MOTM. But that won't last and I predict they will go down.
Rudoni brilliant first half, faded in the second. Torp still not match fit. Eccles not at the races.
Others all good but whole team still not quite putting it all together yet. Confidence should see us improve.

Oxford fans seem to be pretty honest bunch on the forum saying some good things about the team and Robins.

The one comment i kept seeing which i don't understand is the you thought they'd won the league ... Im not sure how they celebrate 96 minute winners but im sure it would be the same. Secondly the atmosphere has been very good at our place for a few years now and most in this leagues fans say it. May be they will understand it by the time they do the other 20 odd stadiums.

It's nothing but a positive experience to attend that, and all the others that have gone before, albeit the odd logistical gripe!!

we get that a lot- ā€œtreating it like your cup finalā€, ā€œcelebrating like you’d won the leagueā€ etc- it basically just means we are very loud and they want to downplay it somehow

I take most comments with a pinch of salt, on both sides. I saw a comment by a history-illiterate Oxford fan saying Coventry is only known for being bombed during WW2, that of course is hysterically inaccurate, and many probably think Oxford is only known for its university, which again is not accurate.

I see most of it to be glib banter, on all parts. As you say, we scored a pretty much last minute winner, that person is also an idiot. Overall, I think most would agree Oxford looked a good side, the majority of their fans are decent people with a decent knowledge of football (like pretty much all fans outside of the so-called elite club fans) and their city will be similar in history to ours.

And we're going to get hammered by someone too if we don't sort out our defensive mid and cdm issues

Dont disagree, but im sure that is something the coaches are looking at and Robins and Doug will be discussing. Sheaf will help once fit but we definitely have lost 3 goals that when looked at will all come back with the same issue or issues. I

Happy with the win and the style of play. Getting out not so great. Surely with Jimmy Hill way being down to one lane for a couple of miles until the spring means stopping people accessing the M6 is ridiculous. Complete lack of thought gone into it.

I watched it with someone who had never seen us before.

I was told to get a No 11 shirt.

Very entertaining but, and I am sure they know, we need to sort out the defence.

Hindsight brigade are on fire tonight. Of course there is gonna be reactive comments DURING THE GAME. Stupid cunts.
Stand by my in game comments anyway tbf. They threatened very little but when they did the defence looked piss weak.
Bidwell was poor again.
Don't get Torp hate, was better than Eccles for me.
We have some Prem quality players but we're still short a couple and we're conceding the same shite we were conceding back end of last season.
Cautiously optimistic but it does rely on Robins doing a bit more business.

A lot to like and also dislike about our performance last night, looked exciting going forward but we conceded two utterly wank goals on our part, however we did on the overall balance of play deserve to win that, Oxford's keeper was immense and tbf deserved better than being let down by the sloppy backpass that led to the goal, that being said Oxford will be fine if they carry on like that and it is refreshing to see a newly promoted side come up and not play anti-football, their no.19 was a cracking little player and was amazed when they took him off

Think we could do with an experienced bod at the back and unfortunately as much as I like him Bidders had his poorest game in a while! Can see him chucking Dasilva in over the next few games

Rudoni oozes class even if what he tries to do doesn't come off at times, we're in for a treat when Sheaf is back and accompanying him in the midfield

Didn’t see all of the game as I was driving up to Caen and could only listen to it, but it sounded as if we played excellent first half and were deservedly ahead going into half time.

Good goals from Haji and Milan, but it seemed as if we could’ve or should’ve had more goals(?) which maybe could’ve put the game a bit more out of reach.

Oxford levelled first time with a bit of luck and through an error while defending the free kick, my initial thought listening to it was ā€œhere we go again, typical Cov playing really well but giving a team a route back into the gameā€.

Second half we seemed to control the game again, but there equaliser was another avenue for them back in the game.

To win it late on is a sign of a team that never gives up and good to see that the players continue that spirit from the last couple of seasons.

I will watch the game properly when I get home but three points was a must to kick start our season and we got that.
