We froze season ticket prices when after the club had the season it did, it made sense to cash in. So charging a bit extra for in-demand cup matches, I have no qualms with. It's likely going to be a 1 in 50 match - odds our that we have more draws like Oxford at home than Tottenham or another Top 6 team.

The club fundamentally got it right on the big thing that matters: season tickets. That's where loyal supporters got a small reward for our continued support and at the same time attracted new supporters.

Fair enough respect your opinion, but if you really think the club need to charge extra then I think you’re mistaken there. I think the demand for this game is getting slightly ridiculous from some fans, it’s midweek, in a cup that nobody really cares about and will likely be playing a second string spurs side. The thing is, the CBS won’t be a sell out now, which is disappointing. A lot of families will be priced out of going.

I think there’s this illusion that the clubs on the poverty line still, which it isn’t. Just ripping off families/supporters.

Some use ticket prices as a reason not to go.

Personally I would not differentiate on price between season & non season ticket holders. Those that can't afford a season ticket are being further disadvantaged. £30 top price seems right outside of hospitality.

The football was crap, the atmosphere depressing, everything about the club smelt of imminent non league football.

Yes the fans that attended were hard core and truly loved the club, but that didn’t compensate for all the rest of shit. I can’t tell you how many times I drove back from away matches thinking why do I do this to myself. If we are honest I wasn’t alone with that thought.

I totally agree on the primary motivation of football clubs though, it is now big business and no longer a community based sport.

Is it better to be a top 6 club in the championship winning most weeks or a bottom 5 club in the premier league losing most weeks …. Now that is a different debate and very little to do with the make up of the crowds attending the fixtures !

Most people at that Oxford game were paying £17 as part of their season ticket prices to be fair.

What I meant was there was still a few thousand (not counting the away fans) not with season tickets that were happy to pay or the difference between 28k and the 22k ST holders.
Basically same single match ticket price to watch Oxford as it is to see spurs…

for this game. I would say 17k season ticket holders will take up the game which leaves 10k+ non season ticket holders to pay full whack. could be wrong but can’t see 10k arm chair fans paying that

We’ll see. If it was the FA Cup then it’s a bigger draw as Spurs wil likely field a ‘weakened’ team.

For loads of games in League 2 it was a good crowd if there were 4 or 5 people in our entire row in block 15.

Horrible days, those home games were enough to make some fall out of love with football.

There is no doubt however if we had spent any more of a season down there the novelty would had worn off immediately, we'd have hated it and crowds would have dwindled even more

A few good away days in League 2 for grounds we'd not usually visit, but overall it was pretty bleak and I don't think it would be seen positively if we weren't sitting in the Championship right now.
