The Players (3 Viewers)

If you think that then you don't know Coventry and you're not from here. It's never been a city with a large local fan base. We weren't getting those numbers in the Premiership years.

Not many clubs were. Teams like Leicester were also getting crowds similar to ours. They've sold out every league game for about 15 years now. Southampton the same.

Times change, football is more popular than ever. Look at the average attendances this season and last.

There is little excuse for us not getting 25,000 every wee.

The players are clearly underperforming, no question. Yesterday I was defending Kitching and he had that horror show for the 2nd/3rd (can’t remember) and I just burst out laughing.

whether people like it or not the easy change is the man in charge! We know the players are capable.

Good question. He was a former Leeds and Everton striker, although why I got him mixed up with Bobby Thomas is anyone's guess.
That's ok. I'd wrongly assumed it was a combined name like Jedward or Brangelina and that you were breaking news about Brad Collins and Bobby Thomas being in a romantic relationship.

Yep. It's amazing how football is one of the few consumer capitalist models that can serve up pure shite to its customers and people keep coming back, I will be there on Tuesday, as I was away at Fleetwood on a cold winter Tuesday evening a few moons ago.
That was cold but it wasn't bad. We didn't lose, were pushing up the league and on a good run. I certainly didn't come away from that feeling like I did yesterday.

In fact I'd say Yeovil at home was a much lower point despite two screamers from Max.

That Yeovil game was to this day still one of the strangest I’ve seen, as I’ve seen us play worse than that and win.
It just seemed to be that every time they come forward Yeovil scored.

Didn’t Robins say a couple of years ago that he’d found out after that game that some of the team had been out on the piss the night before?

Problem is we know the manager is capable as well

Into the super fan stuff again

Most football fans aren't like that.

Most people have limited financial resources and will prioritise their spend.

No Championship club (exception of Sunderland) can pull in 28k+ fans with a team that can't be arsed
We are not superfans,we are fans. I was up at Leeds yesterday, and we were shit.
Some players need a good fookin slap. But will I be there Tuesday, yes because I’m a fan.
If you can’t hack it,don’t go. If you do go,don’t fookin booo.

Normally id just put our lack of positive results down as poor starters, poor individual form, bad luck or a combination of all. But this time i think its something more than just the football gods at work, it definitely feels different. Something is wrong within the group and i get the feeling we are close to finding out who or what it is.

Someone is failing the players or upsetting them or someone within the squad is creating division. Because for the 1st time under Robin's the team is going down without a fight. Fingers will be pointing in every direction from the fans at who and what the reason is. Within the group Robins will be the one that pays the price for the results, unless he finds a solution and gets the players and him to change what's happening.

Whatever the reason, its solvable and will most likely mean someone or a few will be fired, let go, or be told to stay away from Ryton. Whichever it is i think we will find out soon enough.

Bored by this bullshit now - Fuck off Robins you're not a 2nd tier manager, Fuck off King - You're not to be trusted and fuck off Bobby Collins - Proper footballers name but closer to fly fishing than football.
Just FUCK OFF the lot of you.

Yeah, not sure they are not good enough. Just seems they are not giving their all, or following basic instructions and/or, are playing within themselves.

Points more to apathy and disillusionment, rather than lack of ability.
I just find that even more frustrating. You would have hope attitude would have been factored in to any recruitment.

They’re all human. And as fans we know little of what’s going on behind the scenes. It’s why I have found MRs scathing attitude post recent matches a little odd as I can’t see it helping.

Same every year , we have a bad run and they are all shit 🙄

Stop coping, this is clearly not just a bad run.

Or does Robins come out and accuse players of ignoring his instructions every time we "have a bad run"?

This time last year there was a valid excuse that the squad needed time to gel. Then after the cup run the small squad ran out of steam. Both were disappointing runs but were understandable, and there were signs that the corner would be turned.

now this is a stupid post

Yeah, let’s give up on our entire playing squad. Great plan.

The ability is there. It’s just not being converted into results.

The ability is there, but the application isn't. There's certain players that are obviously not up for the scrap, and therefore they probably shouldn't be playing. If you cannot motivate yourself at a professional level of football something is quite badly wrong, and if your manager is grieving, some should be stepping up, but they're not. We are crying out for some hard-working leaders right now. I think Robins will have more time, but it will run out fast if this carries on.

No perhaps I should suggest the sacking of Robins , the whole coaching and playing staff

See I can get on board with this . Which is why I think we go back to last season's standouts with maybe only Dovin and Rudoni from this season till we turn the corner

Agreed, you can see the quality of the players but it's just not translating into good performances.

If true, and I must stress the word "if" - and apologies for the ironic non-intentional use of the phrase - it is poor form of the players to act out when MR is going through some personal shit.

As you say, even just as a professional, you have to motivate yourself first and foremost. I trust MR to get the best out of the players, as there is no reason in the last seven years to doubt that. We'll get through this.
