Not even said that youre making it up , I was one of the only fans angry at our end of season form .. every fucker on here was telling me the squad had ran out of steam
When in reality something else was happening?

As I've stated it has been widely accepted by most that the squad just didn't have enough along with the cup run to sustain the end of last season.

Pull up the match threads and look at what people were saying , the squad were on the beach after hull
How long should he get then ?
I asked the same question yesterday to which you didn't answer. Put a timespan on it .

Well sometimes things don't go as you want, but you have to keep trying to build and get it right .

For me that doesn't involve a new manager , we persist with the guy that's already given us success
I’m just not sure Robins has what it takes to build the team we need tbh

We’ve actually been a bit unlucky this season I think, should probably have a few more points. But the bigger concern for me is that there doesn’t seem to be a consistent idea tactically, the teams looks all over the place at times and some of the changes being made feel a bit random.

I don't agree with you on Robins

Which seasons did he struggle at this level, with squads that should have been doing much much better ? Please tell

sorry, you’ve added another criteria that wasn’t part of my statement so even when I say he wasn’t great at Barnsley Huddersfield or Scunthorpe you’ll try and point to the strength or otherwise of the squad…

No, my point is that he's responsible for not having a clue what to do with a squad that we paid over £45m for.

He has no idea about his best 11, best system or best lineup.
I think he does know his best 11.

Trouble is, so many of them keep coming in and underperforming.

I know many make the point of Robins constantly chopping and changing the side, but on many, many occasions, we have had to change things because of players underperforming.

I'm sure an on form Rudoni would be in every game, but he keeps disappearing in games and fading badly.

So many frustrating performances from too many players so far. It's mind-boggling.

We have a fabulous Wright and an inept Wright. Which one turns up to games, no-one knows.

As a matter of interest, which players would everyone say are putting in consistent decent performances, week in, week out?

🤔

Rudoni isn't a number 10.

But let's be real , fans at the time were happy that the club prioritised the cup with a small depleted squad and now are bring it up because it suits the narrative ?

Another weird thing
Yeah and though those ARE the facts, we all know that we were left with nothing to play for late on in the season and had been pushed out the promotion race.

At that point there was very little to play for. That can make a hell of a difference.

The whole point is you have to keep picking the same 11, even if some need time. Trust your judgement and give them 5 or 6 games.
Use the rest of the squad for subs and to cover injuries.
The trouble is now he is under real pressure and more likely to flap about.

So you wouldnt accept the reasons as to why he did as he did , you just want to push league position and win ratio ? Then sure , Robins didn't do well .. the same way robins did shit our first season back in the championship

I don’t get why all the stats last season are now such a burning issue.

All the terrible form last season was not an issue pre-season, when everyone was high with expectation, last season didn’t matter one bit, as everyone understood the reasons. Now all of a sudden last season is really important and another reason why “times up”

I’ll accept reasoned arguments, sure

but the clubs I mentioned (other than maybe Scunthorpe) he had time and it was more towards the end where he struggled, not where he hadn’t had the time to build his own team

the first season back in the championship was always going to be a season of consolidation and rebuilding, and I think that was accepted - having said that I also wouldn’t say he was shit first season back by any stretch.

I also never mentioned win ratio or league position, but ultimately they are probably two of the main indicators of success or struggle, wouldn’t you agree?

I disagree with you, he's built more than one team here and it's worked best when he's been pragmatic. It feels like the recruitment at the moment is too heavily weighted on potential sell on fees to the detriment of team building.

Rotherham - overcame a -17 points deduction and achieved the equivalent of 75 points in the season

Barnsley - kept them up after being bottom when he took over , had them 9 points clear of relegation by the Christmas.. left after a disagreement with the board , Barnsley proceeded to finish the following 3 seasons in worse positions and got relegated back to league 1

Huddersfield - kept them up last day after taking over on 13th February 2013 with them level on points with 23rd place

Finished 16th the following season and left .

They finished 19th the season after

Scunthorpe - you could say he didn't do well

Coventry - 2 promotions

I think last season would’ve been forgotten if results had been different - they aren’t a burning issue, just a continuation of the poor form into this season, which has highlighted them further

in terms of form they are completely significant, like I say if we had come out of the blocks this season it wouldn’t have really mattered too much

expectation played a part too at the start of the season, but now make no bones about it we are in the relegation mix and, currently, deep in trouble

Nobody is deep in trouble after 10 games , there are 108 points to play for , it's sensationalist nonsense

Because usually the way you end a season doesn't always indicate how you will start the next one unless there's a deep lying problem at the club.

The end of last season was a shit show, but it was accepted as Robins and many others told us that we had such a tiny squad that couldn't compete and that at the time seemed to make sense. Looking back, that assumption clearly papered over the cracks.

The team had nothing to play for after hull which was 1 game after the fa cup semi final .

It's just total coincidence

is it a coincidence though? Same issues every week with no idea how to resolve them.

Ofcourse it's a coincidence after man utd semi final we played Ipswich and Southampton both went up automatically , we played hull who finished 7th and we played qpr last game who won 5 of their last 8 .

We played mostly good teams in form when we had completely ran out of steam with nothing to play for , we had a bad result at birmingham sure

So why are pretty much mostly the same players still playing like they have nothing to play for?

What's the excuse?

I don't think you do keep picking the same 11 if they aren't putting in the required level of performance.

If someone isn't putting the right amount of effort, it's right and propper to use the option of relegating them to the bench.

So they lost 6/8 because they couldnt be bothered playing because there was "nothing to play for"?

Real winners have pride and want to win every game regardless. If that is what happened at the end of last season then it's a disgrace and I don't want players with that mindset regardless of whether there's something to play for or not.

Do you think that attitude is acceptable?

Listen mate , at the time last season I was raging with the fact that professional sports players couldn't play 9 games in 32 days including extra time at Wembley to finish the season in style .

Real world we didn't have the squad

They aren't playing like that at all , you're saying they are .

So what's the excuse?

The players look very much like they have nothing to play for. Half hearted performances.

The results very much say they are playing the same as they did after April.

On Saturday we were robbed of a result by the officials... fact , we played relatively well and did more than enough

Maybe there is something in what Saddle was saying, which was that some of the current crop were not happy about the newer signings and the wages they were on.

Hard to know for sure, but some aren't busting a gut are they. I don't see how you can blame Robins for that. Unless of course they don't want to play for Robins.

I would find that rather odd though.

More than enough for a draw against a poor team with players out. What about the rest of them?
