But it is relentless - it’s Reeves go on Wednesday - I was a worker when I wasn’t retired
Precisely. The vast overwhelming majority of us have had to work to make a living.

It’s not my fault they are giving so many opportunities.
Oh I agree I just dont remember this same energy when Truss obliterated the economy.
Or 21 Billion `written off' in Covid fraud,
Or 200m gifted to Mone,
Or Elphicke convicted of 3 sex assaults etc etc etc

This Mail generated `scandal' is small potatoes mate- calm down you'll give yourself an ulcer

What are you even on about now?

It must be very tiring to get this upset about random stuff every day.
The inability to define a working person and how, after a lifetime working and paying significant sums in taxes, you suddenly become a fair target.

Mind you, from a bloke who can‘t define a woman this is hardly surprising.

I’m sure there was plenty of energy about these matters at the time. I’m also sure we’ll have plenty to look back on when this shower are no longer in Government.

The idea of working vs capitalist class was hardly invented by Kier Starmer this week. We didn’t have this when Osborne was talking about alarm clock Britain and strivers vs skivers.

Labours manifesto promise was not to never raise tax ever again. The finances are fucked. Someone’s tax needs to go up. This is just the latest in trying to stop that. Landlords and those living off assets are obviously a different class than someone working in Tesco but having an ISA or something.

It just all seems to lightweight. Do we accept taxes need to rise or not and if so where’s the best place to have those rises is a great question and sadly one I’ve not seen discussed at all in the media while supposedly professional journalists pretend to not know basic political definitions or customs.

Messaging should have been better in the outset, earned vs unearned income rather than the working people stuff.

Does anybody really think you should be taxed more on your regular wage than somebody is on a capital gain because the value of their asset has fluctuated?

Messaging has been a fucking state.

That 14 year long car crash completely dwarves anything happening at the moment

Mone effectively stealing Winter Fuel Allowance from a million British Pensioners - Silence
Starmer being gifted a £500 suit - Outrage!!

Stamerer forced to row back already having leaked removal of the £2 bus fare cap - now replaced with £3 - just the 50% now

It wasn’t just one suit, and were they as cheap as £500 each?

i genuinely don’t recall Mone stealing Winter Fuel Allowance from anyone, could you point me to that please so I can be suitable outraged.

Even if you believe in the myth of "paying into the system" all of your life, you haven't paid for the future publicly funded costs of your retirement years, you're paying for current retirees.
You do have a form of “social contract” though.

I would have been quite happy to keep all my taxes and self fund whatever I need.

Thing is shmmeee, he is not using the “class” terminology, he is saying working people and, as I think you said somewhere, the messaging is crap. As he can’t define working people he has now reverted to “they know who they are”.

Even people living off assets will be doing some work albeit different in nature to the work you do and the work I did I.e. they will be managing those assets whether they be a portfolio of rental properties or a portfolio of shares ( in truth the former is probably harder work than the latter). Your use of working and capital classes is clearer.

Inflation only 50%, bravo
£3 is still pretty reasonable, if it had been scrapped it would have been a disaster for rural communities, and even mor so for pensioners living in those communities who are already £300 a year worse off.

I wonder if the bus pass will remain in place, if not I shall revert to my personalised ICE powered transport going forward.

It’s just a bollocks gotcha. It’s the inverse of “what is a woman” where you go “oh but this person has no womb are they still a woman? This one lost her vagina in an industrial accident what about her?”

We know he means he won’t raise worker NI IC or VAT and it’s just journos desperate for a gotcha. It’s just fundemntally unserious. We have known for over a year tax rises are needed. Labour have been consistent on the taxes they wouldn’t raise. Debate the choices by all means but focusing on “what’s a working person” the register of interests and the difference between a customs zone and a free port just all seems a bit desperate for something to whine about.

She trousered £200m, delivered nothing for it, fled the country and is under investigation

Winter allowance £200 x 1 million pensioners = that £200 million

If you're getting your hair off over a couple of suits what does that warrant? 😜

Personally I’ve always quite liked DNA as a starting point for discussion.

Under investigation being the operative term here, and when was she an MP or minister of the crown?

One thing (being hopeless optimistic here) Labour might be paving the way for is being a bit more emphatic on bus franchising / regulation. The areas that will retain the £2 cap are those that already have it in place.

I see Tommy Robinson been imprisoned in Belmarsh whilst we still await the outcome of the 2 Pakistani guys who beat up the police and the Labour councillor who wanted his supporters to go round slashing throats.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon handed himself into police did he not?

Does that make it quicker?
Its not as if there is no clear damning video evidence in the other two cases.
Of course they are criminal cases which are far less important!!
Isn't this a hangover from when he was last here and didn't comply with bail conditions or something?
