I know I’m a stuck record here but can you guys hear yourselves?

“Oh we need a giant modern setup so that sacking the manager won’t have any impact”

Why did you sack the manager?

“Oh I’m hoping it’ll impact the results”
Again stop being silly.

It means less hassle when you do need to change a manager. Focus on one issue not having to completely change everything about the club with ever new manager you hire who has different ways of working

Bloomfield is mental. A bloke who's spent his career playing and coaching for Wycombe.

After the outrageous response to the decision today, Doug needs to get someone in who's not going to be phased.

The pressure a new manager is going to be under is going to be massive. Anyone from the lower leagues is going to struggle.

None of the usual names that litter the betting lists.

Nor the football dinosaur has beens either.

Or the wanky ex players.

We need to go creative and bring in a proven European coach that is tactically astute, with proven success and innovative practice.

We then need some fucking patience and give the new guy a chance.

It took Thomas Frank 4 seasons to get Brentford up and he’s kept them up.

I really do hope King is looking at this type of coach and that the fans back him all the way.

We’ve got a great squad and will strengthen in Jan-season isn’t over yet.

Well said.

lots of clubs have removed / lost good managers and gone on to do better ….

Bournemouth sacked Howe and look at them now
Brighton lost Potter and look at them now
Forest sacked Cooper look at them now

The next appointment is key and who ever it is they will deserve our support, just as we forgave Mark when he returned for a second time.

Seen Kim Hellberg mentioned somewhere - probably a betting odds place. Would be an interesting appointment. At Hammarby, very young.

As per Bloomfield, I would give the benefit of the doubt and see how he gets on. Robins had hardly had a stellar career until us…

I’m so far only ruling out Troy Deeney and Joey Barton. I would be a little upset with Lampard but I’d also give him some time to prove himself.

I would prefer a foreign coach. Standard of coaching education is much better on the continent and none of the British candidates look at all appealing. Main concern however is that King is a clown and I have zero faith that he knows what he’s doing or what to look for in a football manager.

Even in our own history. Hill is the most comparable manager to Robins.

After he left we carried on progressing with Noel Cantwell

We don’t know that yet. It’s still very early in the season. Both suggestions very silly. If you’ve hit your head have a lie down and put a cold compress on it.

OK. I’m going to come over your side and stop sniping at the idea management structures matter for a second.

Who decides if everyone else is working and who is to blame if something isn’t?

What specifically made Robins responsible for our recent slide? And not the coaches or performance staff or scouts? What’s the process for replacing those people?

If you’re always hiring for the group and never putting responsibility on one person then you trend towards the mean. Fine if the mean is high performing, but if not then you’re selecting for mediocrity because the new manager may come in and want better but will lose out as it’s easier to sack him than seventeen others.

I would say that a lot of the problems we had are tactical. We don’t seem to know our best 11 - we’ve changed formations multiple times and he’s at the stage where he’s just throwing things at it to see what sticks - see Rudoni at left back.

there also seems to be what seems inconsistency in motivation. We seem up for it one game and cba the next.

The subs seem odd, and we seem very slow to notice when a game is turning,

these rightly or wrongly fall onto the manager.

Happy with the notion there’s an idea of the type of “head coach” we want. Not sure I have faith in it being the right choice first time.
I’m not against him per se. I actually spoke to my cousin last night and noticed he was doing a good job what with them being top.

but I always wonder whether this is currently a short term thing or he’s the real deal.

I don’t know enough about him tactically to say either or.

Why not the coaches? Why not the person responsible for player performance? If these things ultimately fall onto the manager then how is this system different from the normal manager at the top making decisions? Other than the fact you’re tying the managers hands to an extent.

Apparently we're not looking for a manager, we're after a head coach, to work within Doug King's coaching set up.
I'm wondering if that might put some potential applicants off.

Becuase on the pitch decisions are on the manager. Always have done.

ultimately it should be the players - but we’re not going to dispense of 40m worth of players are we.

this is how football has always been
