Autos or sack the fraud and bring someone out of a job in like I don't know, say Mark Robins for example ;)

I'm not really sure why people fawned over him anyway. That promotion video with him, him singing his own song made a bit of sick come up.

It was basically because he wasn't SISU. Never sung his silly song. Being in the team photo confirmed what a prick he was.

8 points off anything with 31 games to go isn’t finished.
Is just don't think we have the players to put a sustained run over a long period, we will get close at some point, may even get in there, but can it be sustained over period. People will point to the play off season but we had a better first 11 with genuine match winners in Gyokeres and Hamer, and a miserly defence.

May as well just request a points deduction every season.
That's a baffling non sequitur.

I think this is a good point. Preseason I thought this was our year but it was not a good end to the transfer window. Robin's teams were streaky and when they got on a roll they just seem to find results. But the reality is the squad is horribly unbalanced and lacking in certain attributes. If it is Lampard, he is not likely to instantly fix the back line and if has to field a starting line up without Sheaf, Eccles or Wright it stops looking even remotely 'top 6'.

Read back what you have typed.

So much is just bitterness and emotional nonsense.

Not sure how you can read bitterness in anything I've said there.

I'm saying why is a season of consolidation worse under Robins than a season of consolidation under a new coach? That's what you're advocating because of the amount of games already played.

As stated I expected a consolidation season this year anyway, as it would be impossible to expect more after all the backroom changes, in my view anyway.

It is what it is and I sincerely hope the new bloke gets the club into the top ten. That would be a pretty successful season all things considering, I reckon.

Genuinely, what are we consolidating? Mid table?

Unless we end the season with us being at least in contention for the play offs, then the new manager has failed

Robins gave us Play Off contention 3 seasons in a row

Time has come to log off this for a few days for me I think. It's just a place where people come to give their opinions on the football they are watching, there is no us vs them unless you're an absolute freak and if you think King pays attention to anything on here you've truly lost the plot. In fact the easy thing to do would be to stick with Robins.
Fact is if it was any other club or any other manager you'd have seen this coming a mile off. A small amount of people did.
The only us vs them I'll accept on this forum is people who think Wilson is a good keeper vs people with functioning eyes.

I want to see an improvement in performances regardless of anything else. The hypothesis is these players are too good for Robins and need a modern coach, so they should start performing almost immediately when they get one.

This division is totally form based outside the top and bottom two or three, until Feb/March any team can finish anywhere.

Teams do it. Every season isn't going to be more than successful than the last, it isn't possible. There's no shame in thinking this year we will rebuild, we will get used to the new structure, we will bring in better players, etc.

If you believe every season is going to be more successful than the previous one then you're going to be disappointed.

Rebuild from what though? Its pretty much the same team from August 2023.

We've already had the rebuild season last year.

There is no excuse for this season not to be better than the previous one

We rebuilt last year. This season had to be better.

I was expecting a top 6 finish this year in the knowledge that if we don’t go up we’d be likely to lose a few next summer and might need another rebuild.

We've had new players and a whole new coaching setup. Double whammy.

Don't see how anyone can say anything less than play offs as a minimum

King pulled the trigger very early and only 7 points off the play offs after just 14 games.

The idea that a new manager will get a free hit this season to build for next season seems crazy to me. It's not how football works at the best of times. If a manager with 7 years of incredible success gets 14 games there's no way the replacement comes in without very high expectations from King. If that wasn't the case it would make the sacking of Robins and even crazier decision

We have looked poor most of this season. The squad has looked disjointed and many of the signings have failed to establish themselves

The new manager won’t be sacked if we dont make the play offs - we would never have made them this season with Robins in charge

Every team has new players, the majority of the players were here last year.

They aren't valid excuses

True. But a whole new coaching regime?

See how they handle the transfer window for me - the team needs shoring up - a couple to let go - a new manager has no alliances etc so easy to do - must keep haji wright

Think DK would be expecting no less than a top ten finish this season from the new manager to justify sacking MR. Despite the slow start I think this is doable provided we start to pick up points more consistently. Otherwise his job will be at risk as well. Next season playoffs has to be the minimum goal.

I'm not surprised at all at the correlation between the people that wanted Robins out, and those that are willing to give the new manager lowered expectations.

If you're going to sack Robins, the long-standing, successful manager of CCFC, then the new manager has to produce something better. If we aren't aiming for the playoffs, then what was the point.

Again, we have wasted a 3rd of the season.
