MvE is a quality right back, but not particularly effective as a wingback.

I like Thomas, he's raw and learning, but has great potential. But you need an experienced player to bring a player like that on, and he doesn't have it.
MVE has been rubbish this season tbh and I don’t see it at all with Thomas. Good for the odd last ditch tackle but his positioning is as bad as the rest of them and his passing is truly awful.

Thomas I almost feel could do with a loan move. He's simply not good enough for us at the minute. With the ball I think he could improve and I can see why we signed him but my main concern with him is he seems incapable of concentrating for 90mins. Every single game he switches off. Not sure that's something that can be coached.

Yet Dasilva and Lati have been much more at fault for goals.

I think with an experienced head next to him in the back line then he can be taught. No-one like that in the entire squad at the moment.

To be honest, need something to change imo and I hope that the answer could be Liam. Need to see him starting for the cost and ffs he was a captain at Barnsley surely he has some leadership skills.

Start a back four of Milan, Thomas, Kitching, Binks. Have the back four transition to a back three to try and stop conceding silly counters and hopefully have more strength in corners. Latis and Dasilva hight is being focused by opposition way to much when we have a solution

I don't give a shit if we concede 2 goals a game so long as we score 3 goals a game. I want wins and entertainment. Recall the 5-4 thriller v. Sunderland some years ago. It'd be cracking.

I don't know; I think someone experienced talking him through the game would help him.

Whether it would or not is moot, though, because we don't have anyone like that.

One of our most expensive defenders is sat on the bench. People are also overlooking the midfield as well. They're more than complict in many of the goals we concede. Usually by inaction in the build up. Goalkeepers are also all seemingly clown college graduates.

Not taking anything away from the other clowns by the way, or making excuses, it is a joke from top to bottom.

JDS is absolutely shocking. Many of us called this out a while ago and after he had one reasonable game there were screeches for him to play instead of Bidwell. Just utterly bizarre. He gets targeted, and successfully exploited every game. It is a cheat code for the opposition.

Which isn’t sustainable in the long run. You build from the back first and foremost, if you don’t concede, you cannot lose.

Man City's defence is making ours look not that bad lol.

Not sure the defence on its own is the problem. When we turn the ball over during one of our tippy-tappy attacks, our defensive-type midfielders are nowhere to be seen, so the opponents just get to run directly at our defenders who can't handle it. Add to that that all XI shit themselves against a high press, and it's no wonder we concede most weeks. I suspect a few positioning tweaks and a bit of mental fortitude are all we really need.
I agree, I think if we sort the middle of the park out defence will be better off

That’s the problem, they only need to get the shot on target and there’s a good chance it’s going in! Why can we never seem to recruit a decent goalkeeper who can shot stop or even come out his 6 yard box to claim a cross
To be honest think Dovin has potential as he showed against Bristol but questions have to be asked how they are coached.

Hopefully Frank can have a look into it

It doesn’t have anything to do with the coaching, they’re just all goalkeepers of similar ability playing in front of a back line that routinely exposes them to soft chances. No amount of keeper coaching is going to change that.

Spot on, eccles was just as at fault for the 2nd goal, but they’re first goal tonight was exactly the same as the first goal Saturday, da silva just switches off, does it all the time, bidwell needs to play left back. we had a back 5 and 2 defensive midfielders, 7 defenders and still can’t defend 😂 genuinely think they get in each others way, they’re not sure who to mark or where to go, embarrasing what we’ve paid for them

How the fuck Kitching is not getting a game when it’s a fucking shit show at the back is beyond me.
Probably because on several occasions he’s been just as bad if not worse

A classic example of a player who gets better and better as long as he’s out of the team for long enough

And while I’m at it why the fuck can’t any of our defenders head it to a team mate? Ball goes in the air and literally every single time it either goes miles out of play or straight to the opposition. Like they all have fifty pence heads! Ffs.

They’re professional footballers-they literally get paid to head the ball every single day.

Dovin is the keeper who most likely has a future here. Put him in goal and trust him.
In fairness, he was dropped due to a ‘freak accident’ and Collins didn’t do badly in the games he filled in.

Burnley’s first goal looked like a great move at the first viewing. Replays showed that the ball went through Collins’ wrist. It’s just not good enough.

It’s not Collins fault per se but it’s yet another example of how the defence and GK as whole conceding really naive, basic goals.
