Yes he was highly rated that seasonWasn’t he one of Huddersfield’s best players the season they got to the playoff final?

Just checked he's out of contract in the summer, so may be affordable, if Forest pay off some of his wages. We would need to offload JDS or Bidwell though.Surely wouldn’t be cheap?
That's if any player targeted in the summer is still wanted after the change to LampardThe odds are any permanent signing made in January is a distressed purchase. Not really what you want and having to overpay for it
The exceptions to this rule are few. January business is minimal and mainly done by those in a desperate position. Hull will be busy.
In the mean time we must cover the obvious holes leaving Frank's team the rest of the season to evaluate properly and reset in Summer.
To state the bleedin' obvious - we need two or three loans all concentrated in defence, at least one to be a cynical old pro of a central defensive midfielder who is a strong leader. See Dennis Wise, Matty James
The only exception I can think of would be any player we had targeted last summer but were unable to get the business done by the deadline. Otherwise I would eschew permanent signings altogether.
...there might be the odd central defensive midfielder don't you think? The need has not changed along with the manager. If Dean Austin is any good, it will be a not dissimilar list that Lampard is appraisingThat's if any player targeted in the summer is still wanted after the change to Lampard
Maybe. But same position possibly different profile. For example Robins may want a ball playing centre back. Lampard might want an organiser and committed centre back. You may have a target that hits both criteria or not...there might be the odd central defensive midfielder don't you think? The need has not changed along with the manager. Not really a January-related point, but does anyone know how Stamenic has been getting on in Greece? Doesn't look like he's played much. Missing out on him was felt to be a big letdown in the summer, but is he actually any good?
Not really January shouts more summer ones but jack Stephens contract up in summer could be good for some leadership on a free? And like the look of Thelo Aasgard from wigan a no.10
He will be 30 at the start of next season, hardly fits Doug's plan to develop and sell on.Just checked he's out of contract in the summer, so may be affordable, if Forest pay off some of his wages. We would need to offload JDS or Bidwell though.
Far better than two left backs we have got. Contact up at end of the year. And he's not very good
It’s the future.
Been looking at rumoured free agents and loans in the league.
Louie Barry I think could be a good one to give us some more depth for tats.
Ryan Kent’s been rumored for Preston. Could be a good fit for then ten role? To be honest would have gone for Todd Cantwell earlier and think he would be good in a Lampard possession side and offer us a fair bit of creativity (if not wrong got the most key passes this year?).
Struggling to experienced CB feel like we missed this chance earlier in the year. Feel it’s more likely Kitching gets sold and replaced
Fair enough, apparently tho Villa are looking to sell him? Maybe we could look at it and have him and Mason compete for the left wing role and move Haji up to striker?Barry plays on the left and Villa will want him to start.
He's 32 now.On CBs, wonder if we could look at John Egan from Burnley. Hes out of contract at the end of the year and while he’s only started three he’s been on the bench all season which would indicate he’s fit enough to play but not fancied to start?
Could be a small fee and a two year deal?
Taking Doug’s words at face value, he did say at the fan forum he isn’t opposed to signing players with no sell on if they can take the team to where they need to be.He's 32 now.
How does that fit in to Doug's master plan?

We need to address the obvious gaps at CB and LB first before we start stacking our already stacked front line with more forwards.
He’ll be too expensive I think, they probably want £10m for him.Fair enough, apparently tho Villa are looking to sell him? Maybe we could look at it and have him and Mason compete for the left wing role and move Haji up to striker?
I’ll maintain that he’s a fantastic player, a modern CDM with a range of passing and great vision, mobility and aggression. Not really a January-related point, but does anyone know how Stamenic has been getting on in Greece? Doesn't look like he's played much. Missing out on him was felt to be a big letdown in the summer, but is he actually any good?
Seen Boro are after him apparently so would assume it could be a cheaper deal with some expensive add on requirements. But get the points that he isn’t what we needed. Expecting Doug to do it nowHe’ll be too expensive I think, they probably want £10m for him.
A resonable strategy for horse trading, something along those lines will be done to reinvigorate the squad.I would be looking at Tanganga, moving on or swapping Kitch plus cash for Tanganga. John Egan another great option
Centre midfield I would go for a enthusiastic choice Norwich City's Marcelino Nunez.
Another shout is Wolves centre mid Luke cundle, has played on loan for Swansea, Plymouth and Stoke, still only 22.
My priority is a new centre back, I would look to move Kitching and DaSilva on, we might be lucky to raise £4 million quid moving those 2 on.
I would then use Binks as a left back when we need to.
Bidwell- 1 year extension new contract
Tavares - low wages, 1 year extension, good backup
Sheaf has 18 months left on his contract, we must make this a priority, off him a 1 year extension if he rejects, we sell him immediately, we will recoup £15 million or just under for him.
Simms- keep Simms for now.
Wonder if Millwall or the player would be open to selling Tanganga considering he’s starting and he just joined this year. Good player tho and a good age to where he can stay for a while.I would be looking at Tanganga, moving on or swapping Kitch plus cash for Tanganga. John Egan another great option

They value him around 12 millionHe’ll be too expensive I think, they probably want £10m for him.
I think 1 loan in and 1 loan out will be it.I'm not sure really after signing practically a new squad worth of players over the past 18 months that we can afford to keep bringing more in. I'd be surprised if there was much activity in January.
