I think doug thinks the idea of a big name brings more attention to the club , potentially more investment and it improves our standing in the world of football

He might well do.

But that wasn’t the reason Robins was sacked

Because you think he’s going to do better than the guy you’ve sacked?

By this logic why not keep robins and back him in Jan? Why sack any manager ever and not just give them more money?
For the record, I wanted to keep MR and give him the window. But with hindsight I think MR knew it was time to go.

There's not much anyone could do with the limited quality we currently have.
We have far too many league 1 quality players. Such as ,

Collins
Wilson
Dasilva
Bidwell
Kitching
Thomas
Lats
Torp
Allen
BTA
Tavares
And youngsters that havnt broken through and may never do.

That's half the entire squad that's not up to the mark, and then there's Wright and EMC on the injury list.

We simply don't have the quality in the squad to change things.
Hence we need a very busy window.

You wanted him to drop Wright? By far our best player and top goalscorer for a guy who when he had come on had been absolute garbage?
wright wasn’t by far our best player 😂 don’t know what football you’ve been watching Clarke needed games, lampards come in and done what robins couldn’t, got him playing how he did when we signed him,

I agree. My concern is we’ve got a head of recruitment and a head coach who wouldn’t know a decent player if it slapped them in the face.

He’s our all time record signing and our top scorer who on earth do you think it is?

I said when he came I expected to see an improvement by Jan, not a revolution, but signs of progress. Players even just individuals upping their game, better patterns of play, more defensive solidity, anything to show he’s a positive impact on the team. I haven’t seen that. We’ve got worse in almost every area.

I don’t see the logic in throwing tens of millions and two years at someone who has given you no sign they’re up to the job.

This is of course only your opinion. Which is quite obviously overly negative due to your issues with how King handled Robin's departure.

Whilst we havent done as well as we all wanted, it could quite easily be argued that we have seen a couple of individual improvements, such as EMC, Eccles, Rudoni and Bidwell. And then the obvious of finally getting Dovin in nets, resulting in only 1 goal conceded in the last 3, despite the lacklustre displays going on in front of him.

As for improved passages of play, I actually believe we are seeing changes. Full backs, particularly Bidwell in advanced positions, and generally more bodies in the box to try and get on the end of the obvious increase in crossing.

To say we've got worse in every department is pure hyperbole which is making you and your stance against King (and in turn Lampard) look silly.

Half of this is just factually inaccurate. “Finally getting Dovin in nets” he’s benched him more in 8 games than Robins ever did (5 to 3).

12 months ago Bidwell set up a goal with a great cross

to say Bidwell never pushed forward before Lampard is ridiculous

It’s ludicrous the stuff that some are coming out with. Today alone I’ve heard Lampard isn’t a “name”, Robins should have dropped Haji Wright, that it doesn’t matter who the opposition is in a game, and now that Lampard gave Dovin his big break when Robins wouldn’t.

Just batshit.

That's definitely a big problem, hopefully Frank can have his own way regarding recruitment, if he can't then he shouldn't of taken the job,
I'd be suprised if he hasn't demanded final say at the very least.

I don’t want him to have his own way. His record at Derby and Chelsea was shite. I want a proper scouting team.

Lampard, like Robins, has to take responsibility for any signings

More rabid hyperbole. You need a break.
