Anyway, sorry to quote my own post, but genuinely interested to hear people's opinions on it.

Dovin now No.1, EMC looks a player, Kitching back in the fold, (early days) and profit turned on Palmer and lati.

We certainly haven't wasted 42 mil.

I’ll be honest I don’t think the squad is bad individually and there’s a lot of talent in the group. Just the squad balance is slightly off.

Do you not find it weird they would post him voluntarily though? Or would the admin not be aware of any ongoing negotiations anyway?

Does seem odd for the club to say he’s ill and can’t attend an event but then voluntarily show he isn’t ill!

Not sure if they'd know to be honest.
Hopefully it's sll done and dusted quickly and all parties can move on and we xancea k on bringing someone in.

Absolute clown.

If you are in the bottom 3 all season and win the last 4 matches to pull clear have you had a season fighting relegation, yes of course you have. Your final points total is not the only consideration when reflecting on how your season has gone.

we weren’t in the bottom three all season

As has been pointed out, that is with a sample size of one.

And also a season where everyone expected our league position to drop due to the player churn in the summer. Going on comments at the start of the season, the finishing place was as most predicted.

Also, it seems pretty obvious that the drop in quality this season has been due to the radical changes to the coaching staff that took place in the close season, and the poor form / injury of our best players. I don't think it's necessarily on King, anyway.

Do you think we’ll finish 9th or higher this season?

If Lati goes for profit does that count as a succesful signing?
Because the recruitment is starting to look not quite as bad as has been made out.
Any transfer where you make a profit cannot be seen as anything other than a success.

Barring a select few clubs, the MO of any clubs transfer policy is to buy low and sell higher. We’re in a good position in our squad to make profit on most of our players, despite the bedwetters.

The notion that it was all wasted was always overdramatic bollocks tbf. I can't think we'd sell many for less than what we paid for them.
Think the last time we had this convo I said maybe question marks over Dovin if he can't get ahead of pinky and perky but even he had time on his side. Well since then he's back in and looks really good imo.
We need injured players back and even then we are still short of 2 or 3 to be a force in this league it seems. But it's not all bad.

Personally, I don’t think so on the current viewing. It’s not out of the question though because we’re 8 points off that now.

Looking at last season, we were 5/6th and finished below Boro who were probably around our position at the same point this year.

Get a few good players in this month, bring back the star players from injury and finish the season on a high and the good vibes at the club return imo.

Makes sense that he would be in training unless the deal is fully signed and sealed, it may well fall through.

I assume he didn't play the other night to avoid risking an injury that would scupper the deal.

Could be that he/the club wanted to avoid any awkwardness since the rumour is out there, so pulled him out of the event.

Guessing photographers/social media people wouldn't be told about transfers early either to avoid leaks.

I wouldn't read anything into his picture getting posted.

I don’t have a second account I have an unpopular view which has created the pile on.

I think King has been good for us, Robins brilliant but had some flaws, our scouting broadly good, our players do care.

This isn’t inline with the herd mentality of some.

You made statements that weren't true. If not ignoring actual facts is herd mentality then so be it.

I wouldn't put money on it, but it's hardly the point.

We've had one full season since King took over.

And even if we finish 17th (or whatever) this season, saying that King has regressed the club after only two seasons in charge would be hyperbolic.

There's no question that this season has been hugely disappointing, and this team is very hard to like, but that's not all on King. In fact, he's acted decisively to try to rectify it; whether those actions will prove the right ones remain to be seen, but at the moment it's too soon to gauge whether his effect on the club is positive or negative.

Ita not hyperbolic. It’s a fact. We would have gone backwards. Maybe that’s reasonable. Maybe it’s understandable. But if you’re wondering why the people who pay to see the team progress aren’t happy that’s your answer.

25 years old, over 130 championship appearances and an international who can play multiple positions. Be weird if he wasn't sought after by people who know stuff tbh
