Let’s be grateful that Pato has finally agreed to drop to our level after many years of turning down his “boyhood club”

Im sure it’s out of his love for the club and not the fact he’s totally past it and nobody else wants him

Would have been a brilliant signing at any time during his career with Walsall, Forest or Swansea. He turned us down for Swansea but then we declined the chance to sign him after he fell out with Russell Martin.

Given that we seemed to court Matty James in September I’m not against it in principle but he’s played almost no competitive football this season and that’s a concern.

Will support him if he finally does join us, for however long.

Oh and his fam are Cov fans but he supported Liverpool I believe

Not remotely similar players.

It’s almost like we have seen Barry Bannan school our midfield with his know how and thought we could do with some of that but Paterson has never been in the same league as Bannan.

Lads, look at the source and take it with a pinch of salt.

It would be stupid to fill up the one squad space we currently have before we sign players of greater need.

Tbh at that moment in time, taking all sentiment out Swansea seemed a better career move, they were defeated play off finalists the previous season and we were a relatively new championship side

They probably blew us out the water on wages as well
Completely agree. Not the point I was making though.

I’ve never bought this link to Cov bollocks.

some of my fav all time players had probably never heard of Coventry before we signed them ….

Ndlouv, Boateng, Hadji, Gykores, Hamer, the list goes on and on ….

It’s about what they do on the pitch not what postcode they were born in for me anyway.

Struggling to get my head around this. Guessing he’ll be our 10 and left side back up with Wright moving up front to replace Asante. Makes little sense to me

Gotta be seen as another body in the team rather that someone thats going to make a huge difference.

Think we all need to pause.

Likely low cost, low risk until season end and it’s some experience. (Any longer than season end would be worrying)

would it be my choice, no (but like most I’ve not seen him in action for a while).

But if he’s trained all week, Lampard, Edwards et al have seen enough players to know if he can be of use now.

if this is one of 2/3 in them no problem, would be slightly alarming if this was the only IN and just fans flames of the money running out/king wanting out rumours etc.

I agree with this.

I don’t think King wants out yet from what I’m told as the value hasn’t been created.

He wants to ideally get us promoted and secure the stadium to get maximum value but knows achieving at least one of them will also create value.

He's a free agent. Released by Charlotte FC as he couldn't get in their team. 45mins of competitive football since May.
Even if he’d been a regular for Charlotte he would be just starting pre-season with them now. He was also on about £8,500 a week. Given how long it will take him to get up to speed I sincerely hope it’s some kind of pay-as-you-play deal.

Been told the same

Rak Sakyi could also be announced today
I think Paterson's flexibility and experience will come in really handy.

Rak Sakyi has a lot of potential and is a much needed body in the midfield.

Just need an experienced head at CB now and I will be leaning on this being okay window.

Am I missing something? He's a less than 1 in 6 striker, spent most of his career in the championship, now he's 33 and just been released by an MLS side?

It's like we're back in L1/L2 again. I'd rather keep BTA.
